It's not too surprising that Soriano is hitting his hot streak again. But Lee going 0 for 9 in the past two games??? What is up with that? When that's happening, I think that he should be taking the first pitch everytime he goes up there until he starts seeing the ball again. I realized that he's the pro and I'm just a bro, but I know a little about baseball.

Now that Soriano's hot, his stock should be up and we can trade him. I absolutely hate seeing this guy hit in the leadoff spot and not stealing bases as much as he should, so I say Hendry should trade him for some real baseball leadoff hitter talent. A guy who can play anywhere in the OF - CF would be best, considering we can put Pie Edmonds or Johnson in LF.

Crawford, in Tampa would be a solid candidate.

I also saw a post on the Pirates board talking about trading Nady, but he wouldn't be the right (puzzle) piece.

Jose Reyes is amazing and fast, but he doesn't play OF, he should though. Out there he would truely be using his speed and his arm.

That Michael Bourn in Houston has gotten his name out there, I never heard of that guy before. He leads the majors in SBs and plays CF. Um...nevermind, he can't hit.

I don't know, Soriano just bugs me, no matter what he does...His closed stance, don't get me wrong, I love the way it looks, but if he changed it, I bet he would see the ball better. Just like what Derek Lee did with his stance. And all of his injuries. His little hop before he catches the ball. Poor fielding. He is paid way too much to play like crap all  Streak hitting...you never know when he's going to show.  A lead off hitter should get on base in every game, the good ones do. And why has he been a leadoff hitter ever since he came up to the majors? The role doesn't fit him. All of his HRs could be RBIs. The only things I like about the guy are his stance (looks cool, but not good for him), his assists and his homeruns. Who doesn't like a HR?

I'm sorry if it looks like a huge rant, but that's what I feel. Just being real.

ya, had to figure Sori was going to get hot...3 hr in 3 days. That's about the book on him. Can't get a hit or will carry a team on his back. Got to deal with it. Lee getting cold...who knows. As long as they are winning in the end IDC.

I don't say this often to a Cubs fan, but what a dumb post. Seriously.

Classic thread. I'm surprised it didn't mention a guy who plays for the O's and leads off too. That will never end. We were looking into Carl Crawford earlier but it would cost us too much now. Let's face it,  Soriano is always streaky and he has to be in LF all the time. He is only comfortable with the lead off spot too. He gets hurt more easily with his age increasing. He won't ever run or steal bases like he used to. He won't sacrifice himself to make a catch. Sometimes it looks like he forgot how to make a simple catch. But when he hits out that 1st pitch of the game he is a serious weapon. We can't live on the "what if" status. What if we would have gotten someone else? He won't be traded, that's that. What we need to do is let the Minor League All-Stars (Pie and Murton) get up to their usual .460 avg. and them dump them off somewhere. It seems like we always have an abundance of OF's. I'm really wondering what they're going to do with some people now that Edmonds is coming aboard. I never thought I'd say that as a Cubs fan though.  Time will tell. Go Cubs Go!!!!

Are you serious?????????? Derrek Lee is 0 for his last 9 and you're panicking? In case you haven't noticed, no one has hit .400 in a LONG TIME. 0 for 9 is two games worth of at-bats. Come back when Derrek goes 0-for-60 and then I'll be concerned....

I wasn't panicking Zacky...geez, why is it called panicking when I bring it up? I wasn't freaking out like you.

And I think you guys are too afraid to admit that Soriano is a problem on this team. He's not very versitile and that's about it....and maybe a little more.

Wow, so Alfonso Soriano finally gets hot and people are still ripping him? You may as well be a Yankees fan so you can go rip Alex Rodriguez for only hitting .320 and only hitting 45 HR's and only driving in 120 runs as well. For crying out loud, what do you want? Sori has never had a teammate say
