I get the idea that this team is so very close to breaking through.  Good chemistry, good defense, good effort, good coaching, good pitching, decent offense in spurts.

If we could pick up ONE guy through a trade, who would you want?  I think it might only take one for us to win the division.

As good as the Royals are seeming to scout, I'd even trust a bargain basement deal for a guy like Hafner, or somebody that we could get a deal on their contract for.

Let me hear some good ideas.

Difficult to say but someone like Adam Dunn.   Yes he strikes out but we need a hammer in the middle of the lineup.

I would really love to get Ken Griffey Jr. i know he is old, it would really help the Royals dh spot and he wouldnt have to play the field. i might even go after Alberto Gonzalez the 25 year old SS/Third baseman for the Yankees who is filling in for A-Rod and Dereck Jeter. Not great power numbers i know the Royals need power but his avg. is better then Tony Pena Jr.

Ryan Howard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good young power hitter

He needs a huge contract though free agency looming

He's from missouri.

Lock this guy up long term we have the cash you could get him this year.......

How long has it been since we had an actual power hitter??? and being in the American league you have to have a power hitter

This might sound a little crazy, but I think Richie Sexton wouldn't be too bad, as long as the Mariners pick up a big chunk of his contract.

I think a change of scenery would do this guy wonders.  He's proven he can be great, it's just a question of whether he can get back to that form.

At least it wouldn't take much to get him.

Ok, scratch that.  I still wouldn't mind getting Sexton, but I'd rather have Jason Bay.  Pittsburg isn't going to hang on to this guy for too much longer, so why not go get him?  Big bat in the middle of the line-up, can steal bases, is still young enough that he will improve in the next few years.

Again, another guy who could benefit from a change of scenery.

I agree both of those mentioned would be great pick ups

What a shame we couldn't keep the players that we developed that would be a big what if.

Where would we be right now.  I know management is partly to blame for the weak drafts but geez how many pitchers are you going to draft?

Do you think Dayton Moore had anything to do with signing hocheavor?

Looks like this kid is the real deal

Blue'11, IF we could get somebody struggling, and I don't know the intracacies of MLB finances, that their team is willing to eat part of the contract, that would be PERFECT.  Still allow the Royals to have $ to sign some of our OWN kids.  Could Hafner be that guy?  With Guillen (FINALLY!) heating up, another big bat would be HUGE...

I think that before they go out and get a big bat and I think that Ryan Howard would be great, they need to get rid of hitting coach Mike Barnett and get Kevin Seitzer in here and teach these guys what they really should be doing with a bat in their hands.
