I will celebrate a ws just like anyone else but I will resent the fact the Edmods is a part of it.
IMO, that is shamefully petty. I do not have the luxury or the authority as a fan to define who is a real Cubs. Once they sign and put on that uniform, my only requirement is that they play hard and help the team win. I hated the Bad Boy Pistons. But when Rodman was traded for and he brought his circus to the Bulls, I appreciated every rebound, blocked shot, and loose ball he recovered on the way to three more titles. I do not have to sleep, eat, or interact with Edmonds. I just want him to help this team win ballgames. I doubt his ability to do so, but it is not my call and it in no way effects the way I view my baseball team. If you want to call that rooting for a uniform, so be it. I just know that my celebration will be unhindered by any resentments. I have been a Cubs fan too long for any one player to effect me that strongly.
