Is this the time that Celtics' fans can all breath a collective sigh of relief knowing that if we don't win in Cleveland in Game 6 that we will be able to come back to Boston to try and finish off those pesky Cavaliers?

I'll be honest... I hated the way the game started tonight, and found it extremely difficult to watch. I was thinking they were going to lose tonight. But they proved me wrong, and showed glimpses of why they won more games this season than any other team in the league.

We saw great performances by Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and maybe most impressive tonight, Rajon Rondo.

Yeah, Rajon Rondo can't shoot... he proved that tonight. Everyone says it about him so it must be true. Kind of like LeBron James... so many people say he's not a great shooter. I don't understand why certain players are labeled as "bad" or "not great" shooters when they have a habit of making big shots... or at the very least, make shots when they need to. Rondo did that tonight. He just has a habit of being too passive when he has open shots. He's young. That will change in time. But he did his best Chauncey Billups impersonation tonight. He was "Mr. Big Shot" for the Celtics in Game 5.

Let's all hope the Celts can end this thing in Cleveland, and quiet the doubters that don't think they can win a game on the road in the playoffs. Cleveland is a great team, and LeBron James is a dominating force on the court. Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West would like nothing more than to eliminate the team that cast them aside. It's no surprise they are playing well against us, just like it was no surprise Joe Johnson was huge for the Hawks in the first round. We really don't want to go to a Game 7 with the Cavs like we did Atlanta. If that happens, it will be another hard game to watch... for me anyway. Go Green!!!

Did you say, "Cleveland is a great team?" WHAT? Come on, they're a 45 win team in the East. If they were in the West they wouldn't have made the playoffs. And you think the Cavs are a great team? Maybe Cleveland's not a great team, and the Celtics are playing pretty poorly in the playoffs. Considering they just went 7 with Atlanta, haven't won a game on the road, i think the most logical answer is that Cleveland is NOT a great team, and the Celtics are not either.

That was a hard way to start the game but thanks to Doc & co their half time adjustments made a big difference.  Now I am going to be greedy by hoping & wishing for a win on Friday, so we can move on & so I don' t hear that stupid Celtics can't win on the road in the playoffs.  Guess what?? We don't even have to win on the road to make it to the finals, so stop making a big deal out it. Darn media always needs a story line. Ok I am done ranting.
Have a good night - BruL

I have to agree. This game was huge for the Celtics and a lot more important than people think. If we lose this game, the series is most likely over. The Celtics really have not shown the consistency that won them 66 games during the regular season. I feel even the game tonight was won off of individual performances rather than a team effort. By team effort I mean easy buckets. We did not have too many of those. Rajon Rondo made some huge 3pters and in the lane buckets and KG hit several jumpers from the key. Our free throw disparity is still baffling. With the likes of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Kendrick Perkins we should be getting to the line a lot more than we are. Free throws are a huge huge huge part of the game and are often overlooked. Free throws means aggression which means easy buckets being prevented (most of the time). Lack of free throws means settling for jumpers which the Celtics have been doing throughout most of the playoffs.

To win game 6 in Cleveland they are going to foremost need to play good team defense. The type of defense they play at home. Secondly, they will need to get to the line because while our offense may struggle, free throws will keep the game close.

GO GREEN!
