I am a big fans of all the New England teams. Of course, this includes the Patriots. In light of the last few months, Spygate and a tough loss to a great NY Giants team that deserved the victory, today was a huge leap in the right direction. It feels great to watch all the people who hate the Pats have to eat crow today.

To hear the commissioner verbally say that there was nothing new. To say that the taping and scouting of coaches signals was permissable by league rules (the Pats did err in how they taped that is for sure). And to have walsh and the commissioner confirm that these tapes were not ued in the same game, and in fact never left Walsh's posession during the game. Well, these were a complete exoneration.

I feel fortunate as a fan and resident to reside in the greatest region of this fine nation of ours. I think that people outside our region would do well to act as we do and listen to what we say. We would be a better country for it.

It is a great day to be a Patriot! Your apologies are accepted.

The only people eating crow today are Patriots fans. We know what we knew and was never acknowledged all along, Billicheat knew he was cheating. These losers are getting preferential treatment from the league and in the absence of action, Spector is going to do something on his own. Nothing changes the fact that these losers are frauds. Everything they have done over the last eight years is completely and absolutely meaningless.

St. Louis Rams, 2002 Super Bowl Champions, congrats, you earned it.
Carolina Panthers, 2004 Super Bowl Champions, congrats, you earned it.
Philadelphia Eagles, 2005 Super Bowl Champions, congrats, you earned it.

New England Patriots 2000-2007, forever marked as losers and cheaters. Bring on the asterisk. Say hello to the black socks Patriot fans, your team has now gone down in history as losers.

Imbmoc.....

Most self-serving, arrogant post I've ever read. You definitely are a Patriots fan. If the rest of the Nation (I'm Canadian, by the way, so I didn't take this personally) spoke the way you just did, then the USA would be considered the most arrogant, conceited Nation in the World.

Just step back and look at what you wrote. Then ask yourself: If this is indicative of a majority of Patriots fans (which in my experience it is) then is it any wonder everyone outside of our region dislikes us and thinks we're cocky, arrogant jerks?

I'm glad Spygate is over. I'm actually glad there was no "new" evidence. I'm tired of it. But the fact is, Belichick is a cheater and a liar. Period. Deal with it

Yes explain how a statement that shows that the Patriots' coach is a known cheater and did so willingly exonerates the New England Patriots as cheaters.... It does not... all it shows is that the Patriots are cheaters at top levels in their organization.  Did they cheat out a Superbowl win?  Aparrently not, that would put them at a whole new level of cheating.  So they are very bad people who have no regard for the integrity of the game. But apparently they cheated everywhere else beside the big game.  You're right, EXONERATED!!!!

You people are F.N. insane. Both Walsh and the commissioner stated that the tapes were not used for that game, so their was no competitive edge. Some of you will now say that they can use those tapes to get the signals the next time they play that team. What you fail to realize is that teams will change their signals from game to game.
Their was no walk through tape, Walsh had nothing new. The Pats have been fined for taping in an illegal area. Not for taping signals. As imbmoc has stated, you can tape and scout coaches signals.
I don't know what some of you are reading or if you saw the commissioners interview but how can you state that the Pats are even bigger cheaters because of today. If anything you found that this whole thing has been blown way out of proportion.

Of course, you know what winning every game EXCEPT for the Super Bowl will mean in sports history? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! The Patriots are nothing more than the losing team in SB XLII.

If they weren't using the tapes for an edge, then why tape them?  Are they making a documentry on football signals?  If so they need their tapes back!

with the tapes you can find out the groupings of players and how long it takes a coach to signal in with these groupings. It is all about making adjustments to what each coaches tendencies are during what the down and distance is, and what group of players they send in.
