Barry Zero is cruising along with a three run lead and then POWEE, a two run game tying shot from Lance Berkman.  Granted, Berkman is flirting with the triple crown right now, but still, Barry, you are getting paid $126 million clams.  Another poor performance again.  Poor Barry, Poor Giants.

Last time I checked, 3 earned runs in 6 innings is considered a quality start.  He's making progress and he's pitching a lot better than he did a few weeks ago.  Glad to see the fans cheered him.

I watched the game and have to say that was the best Zito has looked in quite a while. Giving up a shot to Berkman is hardly something to hang your head about. The Giants couldn't give any more run support and the bullpen blew the game, not Zito. If the Giants can get 6-7 innings and a no decision out of him every game the next few months, that will be far better than what they have been getting. I would rather he suffered "Matt Cain" disease (no run support) than watch him give up six runs in the first two innings and have no chance at all to win.

Pardon me sir, but statistics do not tell the whole story here.  While I agree for the most part that 3 runs in 6 innings is considered a quality start, the way he fell apart and behind in the counts to the hitters, especially Berkman, was his undoing.  The moonshot which Berkman launched to the deepest part of the park was on a 3 - 1 count.  As far as pitching a lot better than he did a few weeks ago, when you absolutely stink, there is no where else to go but up!

Actually statistics are all that really matter.  He gave up 3 runs in 6 innings.  I'm happy with that right now.

Berkman is the hottest hitter in the league right now...combine that with Tejada, Pence, and Lee and the fact that Houston had won 8 of their last 9 and I'm not complaining about Zito's outing.

You can trash him all you want, but you're not a Giants fan so I don't give a crap what you think about him.  You just worry about the money the Cardinals have wasted on Mulder since they acquired him.

First of all, don't be so presumptious to declare that I am a not a Giants fan.  I live in the Bay Area and follow them rather religiously.  They happen to be my second favorite team.

If what you say about statistics is true, than perhaps you should read the boxscore a little closer.  If you did, you would see that both Pence's hit AND Berkman's rocket launch were both on 3 - 1 counts.  Statistically speaking, when you get behind in the count, bad things happen.  You can be happy all you want with your 3 runs in 6 innings.  The ONLY redeeming fact is Barry didn't get the loss!

As far as your Mulder jab, that is definitely a blow that missed it's mark.  Let's see, the Cardinals WON the World Series with Mulder in ER.  When was the last time the Giants won the World Series.  (WOW, you can hear a pin drop now!)  Mulder is getting paid this year and next.  If he is on the shelf next year, the Cardinals will most likely let him walk.  Looking at my timeline, you will still have five more years of Bary Zero with his rediculously large $126 million dollar contract.  No wonder Peter is planning his exit strategy as the Contra Costa Times reported.

Then you must be enamoured with your 0 - 7 Ace and his 6.58 ERA.

Just like the neighborhood bully, when you are outwitted in a factual debate, you resort to name calling to showcaase your true intelligence factor.  It appears your IQ and Barry's win total for the year are identical.
