I just wanted to get a few things off my chest. Feel free to comment on any of this, as I want to hit a few topics.
First off, let me start by saying I am so sick of hearing fans, especially Lakers fans, bashing Utah Jazz fans for booing Derek Fisher. Now some Jazz fans do feel that Fisher used his daughters illness to get out of Utah. I do NOT feel this way. But, you can't blame them for feeling that way considering that Salt Lake City has the Huntsman Cancer Institute, which is one of the Worlds top Cancer Hospitals. I implore you to look it up. His daughters Dr. is in New York, leading us to believe that he would sign with the Knicks or Nets to care for her. Instead he signed with LA. I'm sure LA has great medical centers for his daughter, so I have no hard feelings, however can you blame the ones who feel betrayed? With that said, we DO NOT BOO him for taking care of his child. Life is too short. Basketball is just a game. But, as rabid Jazz fans, we boo him for wearing the purple and gold of the Lakers. That's all. Jazz fans are very loyal, think Green Bay Packers here (only show in town), and we boo the opposition. We LOVE Fish and wish he was still on our team, but when he comes in to the ESA wearing those colors, we attack. The same way we did to Karl Malone, Bryon Russell, Greg Ostertag, and any other guy who chose to leave. It's nothing personal, it all boils down to being the craziest, loudest 6th man in the NBA.
Next I want to talk about the absurd narrow minded views about the Jazz fan. First off, just because one cheers for the Jazz, or lives in Salt Lake City, does not make them Mormon. I am so sick of being labeled a Mormon on here. I am not one, but their is nothing wrong with the Jazz fans who are. Having lived in Salt Lake for the majority of my life, I can say that all of your views on Mormons are drastically wrong. They are not some crazy cult, nor do they have anything to do with those FLDS polygamist's that are making news in Texas. The people here are very against what is going on down their. The Mormons can be some of the nicest people I or you've ever met and really do get a bad rep from narrow minded fools that spew garbage without having any knowledge of anything. Calling Jazz fans Mormons is as bad as labeling all Warriors fans as gay, Knicks fans as Jews, or Bulls fans are pizza eating Italians. It's a negative stereotypes and are pretty naive.
Lastly, I want to rant about how the Lakers fans on here have given the Jazz no chance to win. Now, not all the Lakers fans have been rude, but the majority have been. They talked all their garbage about how the Jazz have no chance to win, yet here we are 2-2. And now comes the excuses. They blame the refs, yet in the series the Lakers have shot more freethrows. They blame injuries, like Kobe Bryant's back spasm. Well, for the record, Carlos Boozer has been fighting a back injury the whole post season, Deron Williams has a hurt tailbone and butt, plus he injured his wrist in game 3. Yet, the Jazz haven't used these injuries as excuses. This late in the year, everyone is hurt, and you just have to deal with it. I just wish the arrogant and rude Jazz haters could, just for once, give this young Jazz team their due.
Not all Lakers fans have been rude. Some are very cool and articulate and make knowledgeable post, but I'm just tired of fighting the ones with immature posts and lame cheap shots. Fact is your team is better then the Jazz and should win the series. They hold home court. So try posting about why the Lakers are so good, and not about how "the Jazz suck". I dare you.

Also, let me say that I do not think that Ronny Turiaf tried to hurt Ronnie Price. The refs had to call it a flagrant foul with the way Price hit the floor. I do not think he should be suspended, and that his ejection should be more then enough punishment. Turiaf is a tough defender and was just doing his job. Every team needs a guy like him. We do. We call him Matt Harpring.

Yeah, a lot of people suck. A lot of people suck.
That said, how can you not be loving this series? As a Jazz fan, Lakers fan, whatever, as a BASKETBALL fan this has been a fun series. Try to lay off the lame stuff, because there is plenty. Enjoy what is good and this series has been and will continue to be good.

Don't listen to Lakers fans. Just let everything they say roll off your back. Hell many of them have been on here the last few years claiming that the Lakers were the best team in basketball despite the fact that the Lakers either had already been bounced out or failed to make the playoffs at all. I'd give just about anything to watch someone walk up and slap the condescending smugness off of Phil Jackson's face.

Oh yeah, I love this series. It has been fun and stressful with all its highs and lows. It's good basketball. Kobe Bryant is so dominate and the Jazz play tough blue collar team ball. It's been great.
I'm just sick of all the low brow insults and anti mormon babble on some of the other threads. Everyone posts on this site because we have something in common. We love basketball.
Go Jazz.

I'm a Lakers fan. Don't make blanket statements about any fanbase - that's one of the major points of his post.

It's true. Ignorepeter is a Lakers fan, but is a cool guy on here. Not all Lakers fans are jerks, but their are quite a few. Same goes for the Jazz, Mavericks, Spurs, Hornets, and the rest of the NBA for that matter.

this is my point, voltron, that most people no matter what their allegiance, be it team, country, religion, political or cultural - suck. But the few cool people manage to stay cool by focusing on the stuff that is good - and this series has been totally fantastic! I am absolutely loving it. Hard fought, well played, no real stupid antics (no fights) and smart basketball too. That is what most analysts are failing to mention is just how smart both teams are. Loving each game and I can't wait for the next one.

I haven't really got into much argument here. I am a laker homer tho most laker fans are having to put up with alot of laker hate. 1 out of 4 posters are doing nothing but bashing Kobe and the Lakers just to bash them. Which is sending alot of laker fans off and making posts that reflect what other posters are doing to them. One thing that upsets me more than the laker hate is the fans that are blaming the ref's both sides are doing it and it fustrates me. Bad reffing is part of the game get over it happens to all teams. Did the Jazz beat the lakers because of the ref's ummm no. did the lakers beat the jazz cause of the ref's ummmm no. The lakers lost 2 in utah congrats jazz fans but you should be worried because ya didn't beat the lakers desicivly in utah like the lakeshow did in L.A. with that said good luck jazz fans your gonna need it.
GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!
