Is my humor really that dry.... I know the Royals freaking suck I know we haven't won SH## it what 23 yrs.

The CEO of WALMART OWNS OUR TEAM.. I could just leave it at that but if we could buy pitchers from china covered in lead paint and e-coli bacteria we would sell them for a profit.

I was poking fun of the good ole days, which I have no idea about becaue i was 3yrs old.....   I've never seen playoff baseball live..  feel bad for me

I want a winning baseball team in KC but with the economic structure and the owner we have it isn't happening now or later

Soria is a dominant closer right now. ( I don't remember him losing his closer role last year but i might be wrong) the best closer no.....  going to be IDK... maybe

Our upper management is horrible

As far as Grienke yes he is a wierd wierd dude............ kid wanted to leave baseball and mow lawns yes I said mow lawns.  THIS IS KANSAS CITY BASEBALL

I don't think he could pitch in NY to much pressure, but money talks.

Now where is my crackpipe i need a hit...

Is Joakim Soria, or will he ever be, regarded as possibly the greatest closer ever??? His numbers so far this year are very impressive. Most of the Royals' staff's numbers have been impressive. But Soria is no Mariano Rivera. The point of the story is that while playing for the most scrutinized team in all of sports, his accomplishments so far this year have gone relatively unnoticed, primarily to all of the other issues with the Yankees... injuries, starters, offensive struggles, etc.

This was no attempt to short change any of the other closers out there, like Soria. It's just more impressive that at his age, he is still doing what he's doing, and that noone's really talking about it.

Mariano Rivera is the greatest closer in baseball history period You could also argue that he has been the Yankees most consistant superstar over the past decade or so....

My Royals tirade is in no way trying to discredit his accomplishments the man is a STUD

I know my roll

Just wanted to  correct a few things.  1st Opp BA didn't make sense to me so I checked it he actually has a .085 Opp BA.  The big thing this article was talking about is with the greatness of the Yankees Rivera was being overlooked.  Noone is going to tout someone especially a Yankee if they are not winning the division or at least making a good race of it.  They were just giving one man who deserves it credit for doing well by the Yankees.  Soria does not have the longevity even though he could be the greatest thing to the closers role in a long time, only time does tell that picture.

There are others out there that have a 0 ERA but noone else in the league is at 0 ERA and 0 Walks.  He will fall just like every player in the league.  But it is still a good story.

Joakim Soria not only walked a batter he has hit two of them.  That is 3 free passes.  Mo has given nothing for free.

You all need to lay off the "best closer in the history of baseball" talk. if sandman has more saves than hoffman I'll concede that one to you Yanks fans. But not a moment sooner.

You're kidding, right?  As I said, I don't like the Yankees, but I would take Rivera as my closer over Hoffman in a split second.  Hoffman's a future HOFer, but there will never be another closer as lights out as Rivera.

It's not all about the # of saves...Rivera has a career ERA of 2.32, Hoffman's is 2.77...a big difference considering the # of innings pitched...Rivera has 34 postseason saves and a 0.77 postseason ERA...Hoffman has 4 postseason saves.

No i am not kidding in the slightest.

I find it offensive that not a single person even mentioned Hoffman until I brought him up.

In order to the great postseason stats you have to play for a team that gets to the postseason often. That makes it less of an individual accomplishment an
