He hasn't committed an error in any of the 4 positions (Center field 10 games, Left field 1 game, Third base 15 games, Catcher 8 games) he has played in so far.
Brandon can obviously play just about anywhere, but he is an exceptional third baseman. I think he is our future catcher when Pudge is done, but for now, put him back at third base.
<pre> Brandon Inge has made most of his appearances in major league games at either 3B or catcher. He plays where the manager needs him most and its apparent the position of choice is 3B for now. But a teaam always needs catchers too, thats a position where its not good for one person to play all the time. He needs a break and a day off. The good thing about Brandon is that he can play well at a number of positions.
Brandon Inge is just a pure athlete. That's what allows him to play anywhere. His best position is probably 3rd base. That being said he is gold glove caliber at both 3rd base and catcher. He hasn't played enough in the outfield to be able to say the same.
In has last season as a full time in 2003 catcher Brandon Inge had fielding percentage of .996 and threw out .364 of SB. Last season Pudge was .993 with .309 SB.
I think we need Inge to play 3rd everyday. Now that Sheff is playing left it opens the door for Guillen and his swiss cheese glove to DH. Defense has hurt us so much..Inge at 3rd everyday is key to us making a run.
While Inge is fun to watch at third with his arm. Bottom line is his offense is horrible. He barely makes in the top 25 for third basemen in the league. His best position would be a pitcher in the National League.
