Wow, first Reggie Bush, now this.  The lifestyle out in in Southern California is the reason for all of this.  Rich a$$ boosters and alumni should take most of the blame for this.  A freshman receiving thousands of dollars is downright ignorant and taking advantage of the NCAA.  Knowing first-hand the main reasons Emmanuel Moody came to Gainesville, (not because of a crowded backfield) I'm not shocked to see this unravel.  Hopefully USC is punished, severely.

Not like its a surprise that he took money. All these kids see is dollar signs. If it wasn't for the 1 year out of high school rule, he would have went pro anyway. I wouldn't think they would go after USC unless they knew it happened. If they did they stick it to em' I say. They were lucky to have Mayo for 1 season so maybe they arranged it so he could get the money and hoped they wouldn't get caught. Regardless, in a month nobody will remeber this happened anyway.

Dude, just go ahead and join the legion of USC haters ... keep waiting for your mythical "severe" punishment. It won't happen.

You can't fault a school because some lowlife agent was paying a player while he was still in high school.

And furthermore, since you seem to be an expert on Emmanuel Moody, what is the reason he left USC? Can you enlighten us?

moody left becuase there are 3 5 star recruits better than him in the backfield, and he isnt as good as them. your right, who would want to live in the middle of nowhere in gainsville when they could live in LA where all the hot chicks are at.

Show me the Mayo, and they certainly did.  Somebody needs to remind Timmy Boy Floyd and USC in college the rules are somewhat different----payment is in the form of a scholarship, books, room, board, etc.  ----- Not cash money!!

It would be difficult for me to believe the USC "brain trust" was unaware of Mayo and the Bag Man.

Mayo was definitely a "rent-a-player" for the year.  How did that work out for you, Timmy Boy? Not too good.  Next!

I will enlighten you rogueveda!

1. Moody felt that the lifestyle in Southern California was too high-class and was corrupting his spiritual growth.  Why? You do know he's invovled with Campus Crusade in Gainesville?

2.  He also thought that the boosters and alumni played too much of a role in football.  Putting prospects that he(Moody) hosted in lavish hotels such as a Four Seasons.

Those are the main reasons he left.  It'll be funny , though, when the NCAA messes up USC!

yeah right, like they were unaware of reggie bush and others.  why do usc fans act as if their school should be immune from what takes place at other schools across the country on a regular basis?  its all about money--the school, the networks, sponsors, ancillary idiots, everyone makes money off these kids--except the kids.  i know, they get a free education (which they are encouraged NOT to use, see e.g. Robert Smith and Ohio State) which doesnt come close to the money everyone else makes.  These kids should be allowed to get singing bonus money (like baseball) before they go pro, and finally admit that these college league are simply de facto minor leagues.  otherwise this will keep happening, and i dont blame bush and mayo, they were poor kids who wanted to have some of the things that many of their rich, spoiled classmates had handed to them.  oh, so you would have refused the money at that age?  yeah, right.

Yeah I totally buy that idea that Moody left SC because of the LA lifestyle and not because of the 4 running backs on the roster that have more talent than he does.

Your assume too much, you offer no proof of your conclusion, and you are just the typical hater of USC.

No one knows why Moody left USC except for Moody, and even if he claims to have left for those reasons, that does not necessarily make it so.
