W 4-3 vs STL. What a way to end the losing streak! You're playing the first place team, you trailed the entire game, down by one with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, you're facing the two time All Star closer Jason Isringhausen, and at the plate is the man who's been taking a ton of heat recently from fans: Rickie Weeks and his .188 batting average. The streak continues right? Wrong! Weeks lines a would've been extra base hit into left field that scores JJ Hardy and Gabe Kapler for the win in what has to be the game of the year so far in 2008. Manny Parra lasted five innings and settled down excellently after allowing 3 runs in his first 1.0 innings pitched. Riske, Torres, and Shouse combined for 4 shutout innings to keep the Crew in it to the very end. Weeks would've had another RBI earlier in the game but Tony Gwynn got caught stealing before Weeks' doubled a few pitches later in the 5th inning. Jason Kendall went 1-3 with a walk, Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder both went 2-4. Milwaukee is 4 games behind St Louis now with 3 games left in the series. Ben Sheets (4-0, 2.29) faces off against Joel Pineiro (2-2, 4.33) tomorrow at 2:40. Sheets has struggled in his last two starts with a 5.56 ERA and 7 walks in 11.1 innings. The game will be on FOX in the Brewers' third nationally televised game of the year.

W 5-3 vs STL. Ryan Braun hit two solo shots today and is hitting .333 in his last 19 games after starting the season ice cold. JJ Hardy gets an honorable mention today in the POG for his 3-4 effort with two doubles and Jeff Suppan deserves recognition as well for his strong outing to earn his second win of the season. Soup went 7 innings and allowed only one run to cross on his watch. Milwaukee will try to move within three games of the Cardinals tomorrow as Dave Bush (0-4, 6.98) takes on Adam Wainwright (3-1, 2.25)
