Don't expect Bailey to get brought up anytime soon. After a strong start he has faltered of late, tonight giving up 7 runs ERA now at 3.55

You can't exactly say he got roughed up again. To my knowledge this was his first real clunker. The kid isn't God, he's gonna have a few bad games. But more often than not he's been good.

considering he got off to a 2-1 with a 1.03 ERA and is now going to be 4-4 with a 3.55 ERA he has been getting hit as of late. I don't think anyone has compared him to God.

I'm just saying people are expecting him to dominate every time he goes out to pitch and that's just impossible, even for a guy like Aaron Harang. Fact is he's still been pitching pretty well down there. In his 7 starts (minus todays) he's pitched:
- 7 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB
- 5.2 IP, 0 ER, 1 BB
- 6.1 IP, 2 ER, 1 BB
- 7.1 IP, 0 ER, 1 BB
- 6 IP, 4 ER, 3 BB
- 7 IP, 3 ER, 2 BB
- 7 IP, 4 ER, 3 BB
That's pretty damn good, and his ERA should be alot less than it is right now after todays beat down.

Your right in terms of the fact he has pitched good for the most part. The most important thing that he has improved on is his walk to strikeout ratio. However most Reds fans either think he should be brought up or that he is ready to pitch in the majors, and i just don't feel he is ready nor would he be a solution to the rotation problems that the Reds are having at the present time

Bronson Arroyo- 5 starts, 1 quality, other four gives up at least 6
Homer Bailey- 5 starts, 4 quality, and the other gives up still less than 7.
Bring up Bailey.
(5 starts indicating an average 5 game stretch for either pitcher)

Before you start comparing Arroyo and Bailey remember Bailey is in AAA, which is still a big difference to the big league hitters that arroyo faces. You can still get away with making mistakes that you wouldn't get away with in the major leagues. Bailey needs to be more consistent at AAA before he's ready to pitch for the Reds

More consistent? The guy's had 1 bad outing the entire season. Even Aaron Harang can't put that claim in his back pocket. He's spent enough time in AAA, we aren't going anywhere this season with Matt Belisle in the starting rotation. Bronson Arroyo has bought himself some time with this latest outing, but he still makes me nervous when he's out there. Bring up Homer Bailey. If he isn't ready now, he never will be.

Don't make the mistake of using ERA as much of a gauge in Triple-A.
They may not be errors but the defense is Triple-A for a reason.
I've seen plenty of minor league ball.
The Reds are not interested in Bailey's ERA, bet on that.

Lets remember we don't need Bailey to be our ace. We have our ace (Harang), and if he keeps it up...ace 1A (Volquez). I really think Cueto hit a bad spell but with soto back in the states he could also be back to the dominant start he had. So we're looking at Bailey as a 4 or 5. I say put Belisle in the minors because he has options, wait til we need him in the pen, and bring up Bailey. Can't be worse than what were getting now. After you pitch Harang, Volquez, Cueto and look at your next two days...fallin off a pretty big cliff.
