After having the youngest team in the NFL for much of last season, this year's team could be even younger.  Gone are:

The only veteren signed is Brandon Chillar (26).  The youth movement continues.

Well Vo V1.O hopefully if the young talent Green Bay picked up  will pan out in the next few years and they'll be able to take the Pack to the SB..... at least were not like some teams that take in old vets  that do nothing for them....

GO PACK....HERES HOPING FOR A GREAT 20008

I think Ted Thompson would go younger if he could. Maybe high school players can be taken without going to college, like in the NBA. Or maybe we should move down to middle school, or, better yet, Peewee! Just imagine how cheap we could get these plays and how long our team could be good! Let's go for a record of youngest team in history! Maybe he could have an age limit and cut players when they reach, let's say, thirty years old?

Of course, I'm joking. I like that we have a young team as long as they show the maturity of a veteran. If they can outperform teams with aging stars who are starting to slow down a bit, they can be good for a long time. Furthermore, they can prove a long-held belief of mine: big name, "experienced" players are not required for a team to be a contender. Talent is. And if a GM can evaluate talent in younger players and--this is important--identify people with good character who hold strong work ethics and maturity, then that team can be good for a long time. Let's hope that Ted Thompson can be that GM!

I bet if TT could sign guys right out of high school, he would lol. I could kinda see TT lobbying the NFL to get the eligibility requirement lowered so he could.

This could be the making of a dynasty if TT stays the GM. We got significantly younger and a little bit better. If TT keeps this core group of guys that he has right now, which I think he will. Then this team could be looking at a couple SBs in the coming years.

Before the season ended i was watching NFL Total Access and the average age on our team i believe was 25 or 26... Imagine what it is now with 37 year old Favre out and Bubba and Rob Davis etc. It must be like 24 now.

I like what TT is doing though. Getting a bunch of fresh young guys.

I hope TT stays our GM for a long time.

Forgot one, kind of.  Vernand Morency, 28, is a long shot to make the team this year.  The youth movement continues.

I know signing doesn't mean anything in today's NFL but didn't Vernand Morency just receive a new contract?

Vernand Morency did just recieve a new contract, but only as a safeguard in case the 3 in front of him get injured.  I doubt he makes the team.

If Ted Thompson was a college football coach, Juniors would be considered "old" by his standards.

If Thompson was a high school football coach, he'd try and convince the really smart Middle School kids to skip a grade and go into High School Football... where they'd be crushed, of course.

Not trying to be a smart ass, or reign on your parade;  but if you do the math the Packers as a team didn't really get that much younger.  I personally have never thought the average age of a roster was that useful a stat, I'd rather know the average age of a teams starting line-up, just my opinion.

I still think that DeSean Wynn or Noah Herron will be the odd men out on that one.

well thats all good perspective if the players always stay the same age i mean the 25 year olds are now 26 so i think we will still have a similar average age
