You are a typical, ignorant, spoiled USC fan. Keep talkin your game, it means nothing.

Calling a school a national power is a farly ambiguous term. AZ state is a nationaly recognised team (along with nearly every other team in major conferences), and they do not suck. They regularly go to bowls. So by that definition they could be a national power.

Some might say that a national power has to challenge for a national title year in and year out, but then there are only two (USC and tOSU).

I myself think that a national power is a team that is habitually in the top fifteen and chalenges for BCS consideration regularly. By that definition ASU is not a 'national power' (and certainly not OREGON).

But what kind of 'national power' is going to want to play ND on a nutral sight? This is the best they could do. Let the irish and jones think they got something.

Pooloo - Impressive stats. And you forgot to mention it is a great place to party. I shouldn't have generlaized. Sorry. Still not a national power in football though. Time will tell if they get to be one although given DE's propensity in the past to push the recruiting envelope, it won't be surprising if other things appear on the horizon as well.

ASU may not have been in the top 10 in football lately but to ask the question as broadly as you did demonstrates your ignorance. If you look at the Directors Cup standings, i think you'll find ASU in the top 10 right now, sitting on back to back nat'l titles in womens 5 ranking in baseball and softball and mens golf.

If I were ASU I would be less concerned with DE's recruting tendencies and more concerned with his propencity to jettison after 2-3 seasons. His eye is probobly already wandering (but maybe I am bitter, go Beavers)

Funny to read all this talk out of a USC fan. And they say Domers are the arrogant ones?

Well, remember these years?

4-6-1, 9-3, 6-6, 7-5, 8-4, 10-2, 9-2-1, 8-4, 3-8, 6-5-1, 8-5, 8-3-1, 9-2-1, 6-5, 8-5, 6-6, 5-7, 6-6

USC 1983-2001 126-84-5 (59% winning percentage)

Not too great, huh, winning 6 of 10 games. So after 18 years of mediocrity and I must admit not good, not great, but dominating years we are to bow down before you? USC will have their downturn too(again) but I wouldn't be dumb enough to think their never coming back.

ND will be back but I admit it will take a few more years, to get all of Charlie's recruits in there. It obviously hasn't translated to the field yet but it starts with the recruits and coaching staff, if you're strong there your program will build. Got any knocks on ND's coaching staff or recruiting in the Weis era? (insert your fat joke here, like it hasn't been done a million times before....)

Instead of worrying about ripping other teams, I would be a bit more concerned about the Reggie Bush court date in June which will NOT BE SEALED........

Well, remember these years?

Remember in 1492 when Columbus sailed the ocean blue? Remember when gas was 25 cents a gal? Would you like some cheese with your whine? Who gives a crap about "those years"? Unless you're a history buff it has zero relevance other than making you feel better and that you think you now have an argument. News flash! Welcome to the here and now and what have you done for me lately, and lately means????? For 9 straight years ND has not won a bowl game. We're not talking about the 90's, 80's, 70's etc we're discussing now and right now 2008 ND simply is a pathetic, has been program. Forgive me that streak actually stretches back into the 90's, my bad. And I could write a page on their statistical ineptness but I don't have the time and it doesn't matter because those who are not myopic already know just how really terrible they are.

As far as Weis goes, if they didn't owe him so much money (can you say over paid and waaaay over rated?) he'd have been gone. To make fun of someone’s weight is wrong and stupid but I will tell you he is a horrible coach and as long as he's at the helm you will lose.

aggieland - um as a longtime University of California Golden Bea fan I will honestly admit to this:

We haven't played in Pasadena on New Years Day since the late 50's

And for Pac-10 teams playing bowl games in Arizona or California (none in Washington or Oregon where we do have teams) - bowl games are about moolah at the root, the conference heads ( ie Bi 12 for example) don't care that one of their teams has to play in a bowl game in San Diego against a West Coast team

And for ASU - it'll be interesting to see how they fare after Dennis Erickson leaves. Because he will lie to the school and his players, he's that kind of a football genius and loser.

As always, these non- conference games are planned out way ahead and it's luck of the draw if both teams are really good the year of the game. I'm guessing it would've been home and home if the woosy yet holy Irish were willing to possibly get scorched twice by the DEVILS

Maybe they're playing because it's Jesus against the Devil? I'm just saying.
