Oakland isn't even a consistent playoff team so how can he be the best GM is he cant get the players to make them a great team not just an OK one.
The A's don't have the payroll of the big-market teams. Beane has to work with what he has in terms of money.
The A's have been in the playoffs quite a few times in the past 10-12 years, and were very close to going to the W.Series a few times. The Giants spend far more and look where they are. I'm sure many Giant fans would rather have the A's record over the years than the Giants.
