How can the White Sox be ahead of the Twins?  One Minnesota has won 5 in a row and the White Sox have lost 6 in a row.  The White Sox don't have 1 player above .300 hitting, which is pathetic.

Wait the Cardinals do have the best record in baseball right, and the Cubs have lost around 8 of their last 10 Im pretty sure...

Why are the Cubs ranked better than the Cardinals?  2 and 4 should be switched.

Okay no doubt the A's have good pitching.  But as i recall and the Angels have two starters who are 6-0.  And the Angels have a significantly better offense then then the A's in my opinion.  You can't rank the A's above the Angels.  A's have a good offense.  But they have to figgins, guerrero, hunter, KOTCHMAN, napoli, just to name a few heavy hitters.  Angels should be ranked way above the A's

How in the world are the Braves ahead of the Mets or Phillies?  I'm not even sure they should be ahead of Houston.  The Rockies are next to last?  C'mon, they are just off to a slow start.  The Royals and Nats should be fighting it out for last, not the Pirates and Rockies.  Sorry, but this list needs alot of tweaking.

The Cubs at 2nd is ridiculous and the Angels should be at least top 5.

I rated the A's above the Angels because of the pitching, which the A's have and the Angels don't.

_______________

Ummm.......Check Ervin Santana and Joe Saunder's stats and then tell me the Angels don't have pitching.

I've been ranking MLB and NFL teams for a couple years but this is the first time I started posting them. Thanks for all the feedback, especially if you disagree. And thanks for witholding the personal attacks. You folks are real fans!

How did I get that little push-pin next to this post? What does that mean?

I move the Red Sox up one and their fans complain. I think they're suffering from their own success. The Cubs scored a league-high 189 runs through Sunday. Give them a break.

I moved the White Sox down 6 and the Twins up 8 and hear about it. I think that was my favorite. Good post.

I know most web sites show the teams record through the last 10 games but why is 10 significant? Because we have 10 fingers and 10 toes? I can't think of another reason. Maybe 9 because most series are 3 games long. Maybe 7 because the World Series is best of 7. How big are most rotations? That's significant. I'm going to think about this one.

Any team that lets another score double-digit runs for whatever reason is going to pay. Play every inning of every game or suffer the consequences.

The A's go to Anaheim and score 30 runs and I should rank them below the Angels? Last I heard, it takes more than 2 pitchers to fill out a rotation. I could see the Cubs scoring 30 runs, but the A's? I'd be too embarrassed to complain.

Finally, if you're team is in the bottom 10, I think you're writing to the wrong person. But thanks anyway.

I believe the top 5 teams in baseball are  from botom up  the La Angels at 5, number 4 STL Cardinals, 3. Cubs 2. Boston 1. Arizona Diamondbacks

La Angels have a lot of speed an can score runs without hitting a  homerun.  they manufacture runs as any team I have seen.  Even if you go back to the 80's where the Cardinal and Royals use to win with the small ball you had one guy in the middle of the lineup who could hit a home run.  Vladmit Guerraro is a guy who can do it all, he can hit the ball the opposit field and drive in a run or use his bat swting and hit it in the  gap.  After watching the first two games with the Royals, The Angels scored 4 runs in the top off the ninth two guys in the order hit a triple and  a double,  their spped is a threat inthe American League.

I am from St. Louis an objective fan but the Cardinals have impressed me with how patient they have been with Isringhausen.  Isringhausen can not get more oppurtunities that with the club he is with.  You put him in Chicago Cubs and with  his blown saves they would boo him out of town.  The Cardinals have two potential closers inthe roatation with Looper and Wainright.  The Cardinals defense and moving runners have improved from a year ago.  They are not trying to hit the home run ball everytime yup like last year.  Adam Kennedy has shown his ability to bunt and move poeple over. Cardinals have to find another outfielder at soem point to relieve the pressure off Pujols.  Pujols can  do it all but he needs tobe focus on hitting in the clutch.

The Cubs offense uis a suprise.  the hittiers are trying to paly wrigley field.  Tehy have thrree guyds in the lineup who hit over 300 and Derek Lee and Theriot are battlers at the plate.  They both know how to work the hitters count an find pitches to drive.  Their bullpen is a concern.  Kerry Wood as a  starter used to have problems in the first inning and here as a closer as we saw last week vs Milwaukee he hit the first batter he faced.  wood is  wild pitcher.  If he is wild than he needs to pitch more aggressively.  he could be lie a Goose Gossage.  Maybe wood needs a mustache.  Wood just looks like th e guy who does not have the abilility to close.

The Red Sox know how to win games.  They find ways to win beside off the cork of David Ortiz.  They lack what they did last year in their pithcing where they gave up the least amount of manufactured runs in the league. This year when playing the Tampa Bay we saw them give games on the road but in front of thier home fans they shwoed like they can win the next two world series.  I think the fans in northeast are to overconfident on their mid-relief and to the closer .  The Yankees mid releief is the same thing.  Its hard to be consistent eevry year in the bullpen.  Papelbon or Chamberlain two kids who are more famous than the new American Idol should have some perspectives that players can not win on their own.

The Diamondbacks are ranked number 1 becasue they pitching is deep after bring up Max Scherzer and hey provide his ability to ptich theyor maybe no team with as much talent.  The Marlins are deep and look like thye can be a team with in three  years to win but The diamondbacks and Angels would make a a Great World Series.  Two teams  who know how to develop players and know when to bring them up..  I'm sorry how about the Diamondbacks and Red Sox .  Two teams that know how to build from their minor leagues.  Randy Johnson looks better now becasue he can command his pitches and is less than the wild thing.   Randy Johnson is the Norm Charlton of the Reds and they were both wild.  Johnson could close the next five years insead of start.
