Well, he just secured his fate for the next 3-4 years by choosing Tennessee over UK, and compounding the frustration by making this comment. If Tennessee is a Ferrari, I wonder what the real Basketball programs are?

Say what you may, but many of us would have really liked to had this guy. When its all said and done I do think BCG made the right choice to save the extra scholly for Hood next season. We could have used the scorer that Maze could have been but Hood nay be the next young REX!

Does anyone care about Maze? From all I could tell he wasn't rated, is that because he was a juco player? Does our filet mignon program even need his chuck roast gristle?
Just wondering, since I hadn't heard anything about him until just now, and he issued one of the dumber comments I've heard in 2008.

When trying to bring in recruits, why settle for a Chris Dudley (3-star recruit, Bobby Maze) when you could have an Isiah Thomas (4-star recruit, Jon Hood)?
I think Gillispie made the right decision concerning the scholarships.

I would say that UT is more like a Fiero equipped w/ a Ferrari kit--it may look good; but when you take away all the flash, it is still just a crappy 2 seater.

I think Mr. Maze was speaking of style of play, rather than past reputations of the programs. He likes to run. If he were speaking of programs, he would be spot on. Tennessee is a better program than Kentucky right now, and that has been without any Mcdonalds all-americans. Keep living in the past if it keeps you happy. UK is now little brother to Tennessee in basketball too. What are you fans going to say after losing, again, to UT in football? Wait until basketball won't wash anymore.
