I've gone to quite a few churches in my younger day and don't recall many people putting in more than $1 in the collection plate.  Am I to believe that all these god fearing, commandment following, holier than thou people are only making 10 dollars a week?  Stop looking for god and find a better job.Anyone who has been to Church and paid any kind of attention at all knows you are simply telling an out and out lie.. which means only one thing, you have no desire for truth, merely a desire to spread your hate of something you don't understand. Do all Christians give 10%? No.. most I would say do not... but the 10% rule has always been a debatable topic concerning it's meaning. The fact people are willing to give of themselves for a cause better than that new TV at BestBuy speaks volumes in and of itself. The tythes to Churches do more for charity than any other organization in existence. I gave over 10% last year.. what have you done?

I've never heard this 10 percent thing before.

I put 12 percent of my income into my son's college fund last year.  It put a dent in my checking account, so I'll prolly drop it to 10 percent this year.

I think putting that money toward my son's future is better than giving it to a money making, tax exempt, politically influenced cult.

But that's just me.

Why must you have evidence to beleive something? How about you really don't know when you were born because you can't remember back that far. All you have is a birth certificate but who's to say thats real. You weren't there for it, right? You don't remember it. How is the earth just close enough to the sun without burning it up or how is the earth just far enough away from the sun without having the earth freeze over? You think that is by chance? Why is the earth a perfect shape? Because God created it

Anyone who has been to Church and paid any kind of attention at all knows you are simply telling an out and out lie.. which means only one thing, you have no desire for truth, merely a desire to spread your hate of something you don't understand.

So you can say without a doubt that I am telling a lie?  You weren't sitting next to me in those churches but you know for a fact that I'm just trying to spread hate?  I'm sure many on these boards alone have seen countless people over the years put a simple dollar into the collection plate.  Just because I don't believe in the stories written by people about other people they never met doesn't mean I have no desire for the truth.  Most of you christians that say every good thing in the world is by god's doing have no desire for the truth.  What does the bible say about judging others anyway?

The fact people are willing to give of themselves for a cause better than that new TV at BestBuy speaks volumes in and of itself. The tythes to Churches do more for charity than any other organization in existence. I gave over 10% last year.. what have you done?

Is this more judging?  I actually bough myself a new car last year..........and gave away my old car, a 2002 Civic, to my cousins ex-girlfriend because she was fired from her job and didn't have money to buy a car in order to get to work at an new job that had hired her.  I actually consider her family and I know she has to take care of her daughter by her self so I didn't mind doing it.

Even if I don't count that, I do a lot for others on a regular basis.  Giving 10% of my earned income to an establishment in hopes that I am worshipping and praying to the correct god isn't part of my routine
