Well I hope that weed was good and that was a nice gun because it will probally cost him millions of dollars on draft day when he enters. I think he could of been a first round pick in 2 years but now he'll probally drop just like other troubled stars in the past. I think some of these superstar NCAA athlete's should get a loan so they could live in areas where they don't need to carry guns. Then after they get drafted they can pay it back with interest. It may sound risky but it's just as risky as some of these low lives who got loans in the last few years to buy a house and were'nt able to pay it off. Hence to forclosure mess screwing up our economy today. As for the weed possesion I just hope that wasn't his.

We will probally hear alot more about Fred Rouse this year. He's now a junior and plays in a pass happy offense(UTEP). It's gonna hurt watching highlights of him but he had to go. I don't want to see the thing happen to Parker.

I don't know, I'll wait to hear the final report, but to be honest, I'm more upset about the pot then the gun. I know I plan to own a firearm when im out of college, and I don't want to criticize someone for something I might do, not in my car, for sure, but still I want to make sure I have a means of personal protection. I definatly think he needs a severe punishment, maybe even off the team, but I can't say if I think what he did was totally wrong.
I can't remember, was the gun in his glove box? If so, what was the reason to search it in the first place?
I know that with the Geno Hayes thing last year I thought Geno got screwed on that, and the police report didn't add up (the bit with Surrency charging the officer and knocking him to the ground even though he was in full leg cast?)
I hope he can get this cleared up, but if doesn't he definately needs to be kicked. We can replace him, it will be tough, but we reallly need to get this program back to respectability.
This is such an aweful kick while we're down, our best offensive player does something so stupid. I sure hope we can get things straightened out, but don't forget that JUCO wideout, he looks stellar. Him and Carr, man their big, and fast, and hopefully will dominate opponents.

As an FSU alumn I've had to deal with this since the late '70's... And I'm growing real tired of it, this is a never ending issue at FSU and this crap needs to stop...
Charges or not this kid, regardless of how good, needs to be removed from the team today and permanently...
Its time this school got a good grasp on this problem with these hoodrats and showed them they aren't welcome at FSU...
Because of this type of stuff year in and year out I am personally embarassed to say I went to school at FSU...

Take a look around the NCAA there is at least 10 cases of a player getting into fairly serious trouble around the whole country every year. It is not just isolated to FSU. Look at UF last year didn't they have something like 10 arrests before fall. The list goes on and on. When a major situation occurs with a player what happens to them should be more in the hands of the NCAA and not the school. I will stand by what I said before and say that I want him back on the team, but in the future things should be changed.

hey FSU Boston,
Where in the world do you get off deciding who should and shouldn't carry guns? i am pretty sure the founders of this country decided that when, you know, they wrote our constitution and all. just because somebody carries a gun or believes in the SECOND AMMENDMENT, it doesn't mean you're smarter than them. if so, that would mean you were smarter than our founders and that's laughable at the very least.
if somebody does decide to carry a gun for personal protection what sense would it make if somebody did attack you and you said, "hey can you hold on a second while i load my gun?" you sir are the one posting trash and thank God we don't have to worry about you ever getting that deal for a novel. it wouldn't be worth cutting down the tree required to print the 5 copies that only your family would buy.
i would greatly appreciate it if you would stop attacking the constitutional rights of Americans. i'm not saying that what parker did was right. i don't even know the details of what happened yet so i won't even comment on his situation. my remarks here have nothing to do with parker. these remarks are only in response to your imbecilic remarks in the middle paragrpahs of your post.
i'm also gonna copy and paste this into a private message just to make sure you see it in case you don't come back to this thread

Ok, you opened Pandora's box.....
First, I'm always around the FSU boards so there was no need to private message that post.
Now, since you're stuck on referencing amendments, you seemed to skip over the FIRST AMENDMENT. A little something about free speech so I'll say what I want when I want. Sorry if it offends you. The original poster exercised that right as well but the viewpoint that we should carry guns for personal protection is misguided IMO. This country is the greatest in the world because of the freedoms we are given and I respect and honor those who defend it from OTHER nations who mean us harm. If you are such a proponent of the Second Amendment, then you should be aware of what it actually says and what it refers to. If not, let me enlighten you.....
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
The Second Amendment was written so that a "standing army" could be at the ready to protect this nation from its' enemies. Not from each other. What I can't and won't defend is fellow Americans using guns to cause harm to their brethren. We should not have to look over our shoulder (and feel the need to carry loaded weapons) every day because we're afraid of our fellow countrymen. So, as I originally stated, law enforcement officials, military personnel and those who have the proper permit for hunting should be the only people allowed to carry weapons. The rest of us in the U.S. should not have to worry that our friends, relatives, or God forbid our children fall victim to an accident with a gun because someone had it in their possesion because they felt the need to have it for protection. It's a sad commentary on the state of our country, and the world, that we need weapons to protect ourselves from our neighbors. If you disagree, I respect that. But IMO to approve of unlicensed gun carrying for the means of personal protection is flat out un-American to the core.
I apologize to the rest of you Noles for waxing political but it was necessary!

thank you but i know exactly what the amendment says. I believe it refers to the private citizen in regard to possible persecution from the government or other citizens. how you interpret the individual words and phrases is key to understanding the overall meaning. notice how it doesn't say the right of the "militia" to keep and bear arms? that's because the Constitution already gave Congress the power to build and arm an army and navy in Article 1, section 8. So if Congress already had this power why would they write an amendment for the same exact thing? so i have to conclude that this is not a right of the government or military, but for the people. maybe that's why it says "the right of the people..." also note that the entire Bill of Rights is a listing of the rights of the citizen. so why would they stick one amendment in there giving the government or a standing army rights?
and if your interpretation of this amendment is true, and it is for a "standing army", then why are you ok with hunters having guns? hunters are citizens too. you're inconsistent. either this protects the government or the citizen. pick one and stick with it
