I cannot believe that you are more worried about a very average team on the road (Virginia) than a proven powerhouse over the last decade at home. Over the past few years, ohio state has one bad loss, that being to illinois last yr. No one in the country has the that kind of track record for the past 5 seasons. I really believe that this USC-OSU game will be a great game, and I am excited for it. I worry for the USC fans who take OSU lightly.

The BuckNuts came into last season with a vengeance and what did that change? I think the thing to do would be to wait till you play USC and then talk. Plus, you contradict yourself Cleveland...at first you placate OSU by saying
this early in the season, USC will be on their second game and with a new QB.
but then you say, "
If tOSU wins this will people believe that they deserve to go this year?
Make up your mind...

jfivesigmablue, take in mind that you have to look at it from both sides and use facts. with college football you can say that any team can beat anyother team, who would have thought stanford had a chance in hell to beat USC, even without some players on USC's side. the point is, even with USC's disadvantage of a new QB and being on their second game, USC is still USC and hasnt lost by more than a touchdown in a long time, usually doesnt lose at home. so will tOSU gain respect in the minds of the tOSU doubters, or just people that dont care and just want the best possible NCG.

carolina, you are obviously a ignorant moron, so there is no point in arguing with you
Yeah, I'm an ignorant moron? Ok. I state the facts, many of those facts were witnessed by the entire country (see NCG's) but I'm an ignorant moron. Remember what I said about the Ohio homer..........they toss all reason and fact (even if it's on film) out the window in defense of their teams. Baaaaaaaaaaaawawawawawawawawawawa!!

I feel what you sayin, Cleveland...I'm a Razorback fan but die hard Michigan fan, so i'm not going to bash either conference...objectively speaking though, the SEC has shown it's dominance in the past, and the BuckNuts haven't really proven much to back up their claims as well as this preseason #1 ranking (besides 18 returning starters)...I can't stand Ohio State or USC (both have owned Michigan lately) but if I had to choose, I would be less irritated if the BuckNuts won so at least the Big Ten Conference would be represented...I say BuckNuts 24 Ribbed for her Pleasure 14

well j-five, the SEC has shown their dominance in the past 2 years, that doesnt mean anything in the whole scheme of things though, unless you mean over tOSU. its like saying ND will be the best every year because of their past, it is not going to happen.
you could say that they have proven that they are good at winning the vast majority of games they are supposed to win, unlike SEC, BIG 12, and the PAC 10 which beat themselves up last year. but if you watch the last NCG, tOSU was never completely down and out, and if you watch the first quarter they really shouldnt have lost. dumb mistakes by an inexperienced team in a very hostile enviroment. which is still BS when its a bowl game in a team's backyard. if the game was in ohio and ohio state won i would feel the same way, the game should be on a neutral site, or at least relativly neutral.
the team can really only get better and vernon has already been replaced by the person that he replaced last year. (wilson)

Cleveland....
Your point about playing the back yard is quite hypocritical. Haven't you claimed that the SEC fans have an invalid arguement when they say that OSU shouldn't be in the NCG because "OSU plays the hand that they are dealt"? Its not OSU fault that the Big Ten has sucked recently, but is it LSU's fault that the NCG was in New Orleans the time they got there? Where do you propose they move the BCS games? If you want neutral sites, are we looking at Montana, Idaho, Maine, and Alaska? Aren't those pretty good "neutral" sites? If you will recall, New Orleans has hosted the Sugar Bowl for years, and it was the setting for the NC Game in 2008 since the inception of the BCS system. Were the BCS guys so smart that they saw LSU there in 2008? LSU may be a major power now, but 10 years ago they were nothing, and New Orleans didn't seem like such a "hostile" site when the BCS was concieved. New Orleans, Miami, Pasadena, and Glendale are all appealling places to be in January. Would Cleveland be a popular venue for a NCG in January? I know a lot of fans (i.e. revenue for the NCAA) would be turned away because it is BITTERLY COLD in the Midwest during the winter, thus they would rather have games in COMFORTABLE CLIMATES. I think if you use the "people shouldn't hate OSU because they play the hand they are dealt every year" card, you should be able to see that teams that play in bowl games should be afforded that same "hand they were dealt" excuse....

Cleveland, the last 2 years?...If you recall, the SEC won the first BCS bowl in 98-99 (Tennessee) , 03-04 (LSU), 06-07 (Florida), and LSU last year. LSU has the best BCS bowl record at 4-0...And if we only played one quarter of games, OSU would be the best team in the nation, but unfortunately there are 3 more quarters that follow. I agree with you that LSU did have the game in their backyard, however the SUGAR BOWL has been played their since the implementation of the BCS so that's no fault of the Bayou Bengals...It will be interesting to see what happens after the USC game. I'm just sick and tired of Ohio State playing garbage OOC games (Akron, Ohio, Youngstown St.) and sliding into the NCG every year...They (BuckNuts) did well scheduling Texas in a home/home and I like the USC home and home...they would be better served playing a non-conference game in the SEC to quiet all the bashing. Play Arkansas or Tennessee in a home and home...Arkansas beat LSU at Baton Rouge with NO passing game and the best 2-back combo in the nation in McFadden/Jones...The BuckNuts, though the score didn't indicate it very much, were beaten in all categories...how's that for parity?
