I was thinking i think he is the best defender maybe Tony Allen but he is to anxious in pressure, we saw that against the closer at golden state. I think Posey can cover LeBron better than anyone else on the Celtics, and he brings a lot of energy and its not like he cannot play offense he would start for most other teams. Whats your take, who do u have on LeBron for the Celts?

Kevin Garnett. If he isn't in the game, Leon Powe, or PJ Brown.

I think the C's are going to ave to throw the kitchen sink at Lebron, maybe double him with Leon Powe. They need to make him work for every basket.

I think Pierce covered him in the regular season. PJ Brown? He's a center. He couldn't cover LeBron in a phone booth. I think they'll use Posey on him when he's in the game, and Pierce otherwise. They could try Tony Allen on him assuming he gets any minutes. I think this series will look a lot different than the Hawks' series. Especially if they double LeBron, the Cavs will shoot more outside jumpers than the Hawks, and do a lot less driving to the basket. Hopefully, Wally sees a lot of minutes, because as we know from seeing him first hand, he can shoot, put he can't play any defense.

I still think even if you have a smaller faster guy on him you need a bigger guy to rotate to him whenever he gets in the lane.
And he will get in the lane.
Let the small guy give him a gigantic cushion on the outside however...
LeBron throws up way too many 3s espicially when he's not a good outside shooter and Wally and Gibson are...
If KG, Powe, and the likes can keep LeBron out of the lane... That's where the true defending LeBron really is.
If you have a small guy on him on the outside, that's really just for show.

BTW Pierce lined up against LeBron in the regular season because they're both on paper "small forwards."
This is very convenient for the Cavs. LeBron is a forward, with the strength and size of a power forward, and the speed of a small forward.
However, he's no threat from the 3 point line.
I say defensively treat LeBron as a power forward. Have bigs on him all day keeping him from the lane. Practically ignore Wallace or Ilguaskus if you have to honestly...

You'll see a rotation on Lebron....obviously he loves to drive. The C's need to keep Garnet and Perk out of foul trouble by picking up cheap fouls on Lebron drives. You'll probably see a rotation of Pierce/Posey/Allen on Lebron w/ help from Powe (Props to Leon for a Great series v. Atlanta).
Stop Lebron....stop the Cavs!!!!
This should be a GREAT series......need to win at least one or two on the road to win this series though.
Go Celts!!!!

in the Pierce/Posey/Allen rotation on Lebron, I mean Tony Allen not Ray......just to clear things up......Ray will likely be busy w/ Delonte West.

Doc's gonna have to use the entire bench for this one. the clear difference btw the Cavs and Hawks is the Cavs run a half-court offense while the Hawks are more comfortable runnin up and down, which will be good for the C's b/c they defend the half-court better.
In the wake of this marathon series with ATL, a few chinks in the C's armor got exposed, one of them being Ray Ray on the defensive end. I noticed at times he did not have his legs under him when he shot or sometimes got beat for an offensive board standing flat-footed. this can happen when guarding a guy like Joe Johnson. I was thinkin (b4 game 6) that the C's should bring out a staring 5 with Rondo/Pierce in the backcourt and Posey, KG, and Perk up front and Ray Ray do the Ginobili thing. I doubt Doc will tinker with the lineup, esp when the teams remaining run half-court sets (and cuz Doc doesnt have the balls yet to do it).

I like that lineup alot actually. Posey's a good palyer. He does a lot of the little things that don't show up on the stat sheet, and is a good 3 point shooter.
Forcing shooting guards to defend either Posey or Pierce would be a good mismatch.
and Ray Allen getting starter minutes off the bench... would probably still do the same damage he does when he gets those minutes starting. He'd hop off the bench, come in, shoot 3s for the second unit...
That would be nice.
