The Broncos signed Darrell Jackson, whom you released this offseason ,and I was wondering what were your guys' thoughts. Was he unproductive because of bad quarterback play or for other reasons? Thanks for the info,

It's hard to say for sure, because our QBs and Oline were so horrible. Personally, I think Djack is a decent, west coast WR and he'll be a good #2 for you guys, but he does have some attitude issues (don't most WRs these days though?) and he's no spring chicken. However, I think he would have been an above average WR had our Oline played better and our QBs not sucked.
If you didn't over-pay, it was a good pick-up imho.

The problem the coaches had with him was work ethic. He really didnt try very hard in practice and had a laxy attitude, then when he dropped passes on game day and such it was hard not to blame it on him. I think he probably would have tried harder if we were a bettter offense last year, but its kinda hard to defend the guy if he wont at least try when the chips are down.

Yeah that's what the guys at the Seahawks board said, too. One guy actually said the crowd cheered sarcastically one time when he actually hung on to the ball. Well, at least he'll be our no. 2 at best and is an upgrade over what we had last year (nothing) if Eddie Royal can't come in and play yet. At least we didn't pay him much.
Anyways, thanks for the feedback.

They call him D-Jack. The D does not stand for Darrell. It stands for Drops the ball

Might fit in ok as a #2 or #3 receiver, but not a first option. If he can hang on to the ball he'll be ok, but I have a feeling you will be disapointed in him. Luckily you guys have Brandon Marshall as a better option.

D-Jack is what I call a systems guy. You put him in the right system with good players, solid play calling, and where he isn't the #1 guy (ala Seattle) D-Jack will put up good numbers for you (1K season with 8+TDs).
You put him in a system where they system/team isn't as strong and he has to work a bit (ala SF) and he statisically becomes your #3 WR on a team dead last in the NFL in offensive categories.
I'm going to say that D-Jack will do decent in Denver mostly because he is going into a better system with better players than last year. But just know that D-Jack doesn't make your team better, he plays at the same level as the rest of your team. He's more of a complimentary player that can put up good numbers than say your Go-To WR that you want to get the ball to in clutch situations.

His drop percentage is about average FYI; it's just that we so rarely got a ball off to a WR that when he did drop a meaningful pass, it was like a dagger in the heart, because it would kill one of our few chances, over the course of the season, to sustain a drive. It's a common phenomenon to focus on such negative things, but if you really want to know how often he drops balls, look at his career drop %...I believe receivers like TO have more drops (if that tells you anything).
His work ethic and intensity WAS an issue though and he is a bit of a system guy. He needs those short, west coast routes in order to succeed; the norv system was all wrong for his skill set.
Just keep in mind that he was always a 1K yrd WR in seattle when healthy (key word being WHEN...he is injury prone too) and he would have led the league in TD receptions 2 years ago had he not gotten injured later in the year.
Overall, he's a good/above average WR and he's a steal for the price you paid....be happy imho.
