I like the Adibi pick, but notice a trend here. The Texans seemed to be very focused on how players did in the combine, and less so on how they did throughout thier college career's.
They may be too focused on measurables and how they match the system, and not focused enough on the quality of confernce they played in, or how good they are as football players.
Although that didn't stop them from taking Slaton. I tend to prefer the players who were consistently good throughout their careers and fell due to bad combines. There are some guys who just play faster then their numbers would suggest. I think Slaton is one of them.
I liked most of the picks, but I am a little skeptical about how Slaton's ability to put up numbers at the pro level. I mean I liked him a lot at West Virginia, but I think his size is gonna be a factor. I hope I will be proven wrong, but I'm not expecting much. I do think Okam is going to turn out to be an amazing DT, if he decides to get a little more dedicated to the game.

I like Adibi, he is going to add some good depth to the Leftside linebacker position. I hope Okam can be that big run stuffer that he was in college or at least make Travis Johnson get better. I am a sucker for big, athletic CBs so I think Antwaun Molden will be a nice fit till Dunta Robinson gets healthy.

good observation. I think this has to dow with the coaching staff and their confidence in their own ability. Which after what I have seen over the past two seasons I cannot question.
As for Slaton. I dont think they want to make this guy a feature guy. He is a R Bush type of back. Great on 3rd down and in the slot and will occasional get handoffs from a traditonal pro-set.
I am a HUGE Kubaik fan. He has impressed me with his picks and his ability to keep winning despite all the injuries the Texans have had to endure during his time with them. I might be a homer, but until any of these guys turns out to be a complete flop I will be excited about seeing what they will do for us next year.
I am not sold on Slaton, he may surprise me, I hope so. I thought there were better RBs' on the board at the time they took him. He is definitey a smallish 3rd down type back.
Playing in a third rate conference, Big East, in a spread offense, probably inflated his stats. He will have to beat out Chris Taylor or Darius Walker to make this team, not sure he can do that. Injuries may decide this position battle.
I was very disappointed they did not get a rush DE. Do they think Kalu, Cochran, or Weaver can provide the outside rush opposite Mario? If not, Mario will be double teamed all year again. Could this be what they plan for Chaun Thompson, he seams a bit small for the part?
If Adibi can put 15 pnds of muscle on, and not lose speed, he will be the the 3rd LB with Demeco in the middle, Greenwood on the other side.
If he can't bulk up without slowing down, it will be Greenwood, Demeco, and Zack Diles, either way this is one of the top 5 LB corp in the AFC next year.
