I'm watching the Dodgers play the Marlins today and Andruw Jones just flied out.  What's new right?  But what I noticed is that he has changed his stance.  Now I haven't watched a Dodger game in awhile so maybe this is old news, but it looks like this new stance is going to allow him to see the ball better.  He is starting with an open stance and then stepping into the pitch so hopefully he won't pull off the breaking balls as badly.  His flyout was a towering fly to right center.  It looked like it had a chance but the center fielder made a great play to make the catch at the warning track on the run.  This is a great sign though because he actually made contact with the ball and drove the ball the other way.  His swing looked much more controlled and it is good to see him trying to adjust to break out of this slump he is in.

I'm as excited as anyone about this little winning streak that they are on. It's a blast to actually see some offense. But let's not get carried away. Andruw Jones is a complete bust and a bum and is totally washed up. He doesn't stand a chance to have even a semi-productive year. He will drag this offense down every single night because they invested too much money in him to put him on the bench. It's sad because if the Dodgers had targeted Torri Hunter instead they would be a contender right now.

His stance is a mess. It's different every night. He's fat and out of shape. He doesn't care about anything other than cashing his giant checks. It's highway robbery. But luckily the Dodgers didn't give him a long term deal so we won't have to put up with him for more than a couple years. I would LOVE for him to get injured because that would be the absolute best thing for this offense. It would be awesome if Jones & Pierre just sat out the rest of the year so we could see what guys like Young & Abreu could do.

I'm starting to get excited about this Dodger team. But until Jones, Pierre, Nomar & Kent are gone this team has no shot at taking it to the next level. At least Kent is productive. But he's still in the way of progress and the youth movement. They aren't winning it all this year so I don't see the value in playing any of these guys anymore because they are just taking away playing time from the players that matter. Maybe with a little luck the Dodgers can be rid of these guys by next year and then this team will really be fun to watch.

I'm glad you get kicks out of watching flyouts to right center because that will be the extent of the Andruw Jones highlight reel this year. What a complete and utter waste of a roster spot.

I don't get kicks out of watching fly balls, but I do get excited to see he is putting better swings on the ball with his new stance.  He did not have a hit but he still got on base twice and put the bat on the ball which is an improvement.  I'm not giving up on Jones less than a quarter of the way through the season.  Throughout his career he has proven to be a very good hitter and I think he will break out of this slump just like Russell Martin broke out of his.  You could feel Marting was going to break out of his slump earlier because he was starting to get good contact on the ball, but they would just be lined at someone.  Jones is going to break out of this slump at some point and I think it could be very soon.  It is insane to give up on a team or a player just because they had a bad month.  A week ago fans thought the Dodgers' season was over, now we are two games over .500.  Jones is still a great defensive outfielder and is going to break out of his slump and I am glad to see him take a different approach to the plate.
