Seems like a good thread to open discussion about our overall receiving corps. While Giants63 and Billy Smalls take a break to order a pizza, (seems like they need a snack as they discuss the Supper Bowl...LMAO).
I'd love to see someone step up this coming year , as Steve Smith did last year and provide us with a little stability looking forward. Plax and Amani wont be around forever. Smith has shown consistency when healthy and has become an integral part of the offense. Leaving tight ends out of the mix here, we have one dilemma regarding the wideouts or slot recievers. We don't really know what the remaining recieving corps is capable of in true game conditions. We know about Hixon's return skills, we've seen Tyree's special teams ability, we've heard about Jennings great speed, Sinorice looks great in street clothes on the sidelines and now we have Super Mario. Its all good. Each has ability, but nobody's really played the game at this level yet, except for Tyree (just a bit). So, its a bit unsettling to know you've got 3 guys who can catch a ball (PLAX** AMANI** SMITH) 2 of whom can take it 50-60 yards to the "HOUSE" and 4 other recievers who are honestly unknown quantities who've got little or no NFL experience or stats at the recieving position. (David Tyree, you were amazing in the playoffs and SBXLII ) Sinorice, this is it for you, my good man. You've got to get on that field and produce or you're gonna be coaching high school football in Homestead, FL.
Would love to hear some input from the G-Men Fan Base around the country. Lets leave Shockey, Boss, Matthews and any other TE or H-back off of this thread.
