And I am sure you will share the duties - or else your wife will go insaneWe actually have a bet going on that deals with the duties.  She says I will pass out watching the delivery and if I do, I am on diaper duty for the first 2 weeks.  If I make it, it's all her.

And the bet was her idea; not mine.

Diapers are easy.  You change baby - problem solved.  Feeding is less easy - both breast feeding and bottle feeding has its troubles, but still, it is OK.  Sleepy and/or cranky baby - bad.  Screaming for hours and won't go to sleep - walking, rocking, singing, nothing helps.... that's the bad part.  You will need to share the duties on that.

My first one was bad - screamed two hours every night - no matter what we did.  Second one was much easier.  But still woke up on a 2 hour schedule - but ate and went back to sleep.

Of course I already did...now she's foolproof though; so before the kid is born, I am spending more quality "foolproof" time with her.

But still woke up on a 2 hour schedule - but ate and went back to sleep. We found this really great thing at Target that you press a button whenever you change a diaper or feed or put it down for a nap and it helps you get a regular schedule by timing the time between everything.

Hahaha - the voice of inexperienced parents

Your baby will set his/her schedule.... no matter what Target thinks.

The baby's nights and days are turned around for the first couple weeks or so - in the womb, they are lulled to sleep by mommy walking around during the day, and wake up at night when she is trying to sleep.  It takes them some time to get used to the light/dark.

They will settle into a schedule after that - mine did.

You can try the Target thing - but don't expect it to work.

You can try the Target thing - but don't expect it to work.I think it is meant to help us get more on the baby's schedule, rather than getting the baby on our schedule.

two things to look forward to:
colic
teething

we were lucky.  except for being amazingly tiny and spending his first week in intensive care, nate has had hardly any illnesses.  but i will say, both of us being first time parents, once the crying lasted longer than 10 minutes, she was on the phone with her mother while i was on webmd.

I really have nothing to add.  It's just always been a dream of mine to provide the 209th post on a CBS Sportsline thread.

You're right about that now, figuring that KU and OSU had won the same number of NC's in Basketball until this year. And that's a good thing to know you're affection for the Sox, b/c I'm not much of a White Sox fan myself.
