Hey you guys were the better team this year. We had our chances and could not take advantage the past few years. I will definetly be cheering for the Hornets next round.

As for the Mavs, I told everyone i knew from day 1 that the Kidd trade was the dagger to a slow downfall ever since the Heat series. I was a big Harris fan, and he was having the best year of his career. Avery needs to be fired, Cuban needs to go and focus on the Cubs or something, and they need to start over. It will be hard since we dont have a 1st round pick, dont have much cap room, and have an aging team with players that many teams do not want(i.e Eric Dampier). And as much as I hate to say it, I think Dirk should be traded. The guy is a loyal warrior, and deserves to play for a championship caliber team. Its not fair to him that he has to stay on a team that will probably start rebuilding.

As much as I hate seeing our season end, please beat the Spurs and I will be happy again! Good luck in the second round.

Yes, kudos to the Hornets.  Seeing them brings back memories of about 6 years ago when the Mavs were on the rise and beat the Jazz in the first round of the playoffs.   It would have been great if the Mavs could have gotten a championship out of it, but with the exception of the playoff disasters of the last two years, it's been a fun ride.

TexasBoy sums it up well.  This team needs to rebuild, but it's going to be at least a couple of seasons before they can even start.   If they keep him around, Dirk will be an old man before this team gets another sniff at a deep playoff run.  I agree, let him go.   That could get the rebuilding process started now instead of two or three years from now.
