When you get a playmaker like DMC, you've had, at best, a great PICK.  One good pick does not make the entire draft good.  I just wish we would have done things differently with our other picks.

Perhaps the argument in picking the WR's and CB that we did this to create competition at those spots.  However, we have other positions where there is a greater need to create competition, especially ones of need like OLB and Dline.

An over abundance of competition at CB,  WR and RB and a lack of competition at other positions is not a formula for producing a well balanced team.

Rator...Im with you man...I was really wishing we would trade into the 3rd round, heck the 2nd round for that matter to pick up the great 1st round talent that had droped late into the draft..We didnt draft an OLB and a Better DE in the 3rd...im  happy that we drafted Tyvon Branch because he is great and even better that he will be plaing saftey...We still have alot of deadweigt in this team....so we need to trade or release them to get a better picture on what our team will look like come season time...Im with DMC now...but we couldve done better in the draft

How about them Lions drafting Kevin Smith out of Central Florida, but one question, how come they passed on Rashard Mendenhall?

Al Davis is a single minded burk! Having a good RB does not improve your defense or offensive line. We should have gone for Dorsey or traded down we dont need McFadden even if he is a play maker. Our run defense is what we need to work on because that is what lost us so many of the tight games last season. But no Davis has to get involved and over rule Kiffin who wanted to trade down. You have to create a winning team at the foundations looking at defense first not looking at offense to sort out problems. Look at our signings in the most recent seasons: Moss, Culpepper, Walker, Jordan. All trying to create a quick fix when we should be building a younger team. Russel was a good pick last year but he didnt get enough game time so there is still a question mark over him. We didnt look at team needs until way too late in the draft. I was opptimistic before the draft but again im looking at a 4-12 season. Thanks a bunch Davis we as fans have stuck by the silver and black for these few torrid seasons but you continue to keep us a laughing stock of the NFL.

What happened to Mario Manningham? I thought that he would be a soild second round pick. WHat made him drop down to the secound half of the third round? It just adds help to the Giants.

He failed two drug tests while in college, then lied about it when he was questioned at the combine, realized his mistake and then sent a letter to the NFL and all of the teams acknowledging his mistakes.

The Giants got a nice steal if he manages to clean up his act and stay straight (or at worse, just a little crooked - aren't we all, though?)

From Prisco:

(Note, once I read more and found that Branch could play safety I like the pick.  College coaches say he's a football genius who will end up a coach)

Best pick: Fourth-round pick Tyvon Branch played corner in college at Connecticut but is projected as a safety on the next level.

Questionable move: Taking Darren McFadden with the fourth pick
