at the very end of NFL live, they said that John Clayton reported that Rhodes had been released.
So yea he was cut
I assume that he re-did he contract so we could avoid the cap hit and he could go somewhere else as he is getting zero playing time now.

Could be wrong about that though.

Imagine that !

Rhodes gone?
A source close to the Raiders said the team will release running back Dominic Rhodes.
ESPN's John Clayton is reporting the same thing.

The Oakland Raiders notified halfback Dominic Rhodes that he is being released.

The move wasn't much of a surprise. The Raiders invested the fourth pick in the first round of the NFL draft on halfback Darren McFadden. With McFadden, Michael Bush, Justin Fargas and LaMont Jordan under contract, someone had to be the odd man out, and it turned out to be Rhodes.
The salary cap was behind Rhodes' release. When the Raiders traded cornerback Fabian Washington to Baltimore Sunday, they took a $1.093,750 cap hit, putting them over the salary cap.
Rhodes had a $1.75 million salary, enough to put the Raiders back under the cap once he was released.
Rhodes, 29, signed a two-year contract with the Raiders last year. He was suspended for four games last season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, and ended up rushing for only 302 yards on 75 carries.

Hey Its Time, this is the part I found funny. All the talk of Al spending and we are still under the cap. LOL
Another thing, do we take a hit if we let Jordon go? Doesn't he make 3 or 4 mill.

His base salary is 4.8 million. Ja Rus said 3.5 cap so that means 1.3 million of his signing bonus would roll into this year.

The cap hit should happen the following year, but I'm not sure. I'm not in the finances department. I'm in the fan department. Is there a button you can press to clear cap penalties like on Madden? Because I usually end up with 15 million in penalties a year. When I first started playing that game in 03, I didn't know you could clear them so I was like 70 million over the cap and was forced to declare bankruptsy and start over. That's too bad. It was a good franchise. After my 6 years of Madden experience, I am now a financial genius. I lowball people. When I traded for Roy Williams his salary was too high for my liking so I made him a RB, it lowered his rating, I cut him, and resigned him for just enough money that won't lead to a holdout. I did that with Gallery too. I made him a DE and he was like a 20. I signed him for 225k a year and when he tried to hold out I cut his hair and then cut him off the roster.
