This is exactly what's wrong with the NBA. It's just like the NHL. Once you take the physicality away, the game goes to crap. Jordan lived with players hacking the hell out of him constantly, the old Bulls-Pistons rivalry had so much physical play it was gladiatorial to behold, Lakers-Celtics was full of hard, HARD fouls that helped create one of the best rivalries in all of sports. And now, the pink and purple new-look NBA has crap like this. Was it a hard foul, hell yes. Was it intentional that he didn't go after the ball, hell yes. Did it catch him in the air, with the possibility that he might get hurt coming down, hell yes. And all of that reminds me of the good old days of the NBA, back when fouls were fouls and palming was called instead of overlooked like traveling is, where rivalries were born in a moments of athletic ability enhancing heart, drive, and determination. I hate this crap that the NBA has become. These guys make millions upon millions of dollars, with all sorts of compensation and incentives and other financial securities that should allow them to play the game with - heaven forbid- some physical contact. Let them play. Baby gloves are for babies. If this would have happened 15 years ago (and it did on a regular basis), it would have been two shots and play on, like it should be. If this goes the way of the NHL, trying to take the fighting out, then we are in for some pretty crappy ball in the future, let alone the pansy crap that's happening now.

Michael was a master at playing under those conditions. He fouled back just as hard. Lebron is 3 inches taller and 45 pounds heavier. It is comical to see how the NBA babies him. I guess the days of physical basketball are gone....

im sure people didn't take aim at michael jordan and physically try to harm him.. Haywood try to shove lebron in mid air no attempt at the ball and hurt him.. He's been doing this the whole series so far
I was really ticked when i saw him set a moving pick on lebron in game one and then stand over top of him as if he was king after he did it..
This go shows no sign of sportsmanship along with most of his team mates. This Wizards team is very badly coached and has a lack of discipline. in my opinion.. if they lose the series they should fire the head coach and go get Bobby Knight.. that'll pull this team together and knock some sense in to agent 0.. or excuse "Mr 4th quarter" (well atleast he thinks he's mister 4th quarter)
But i could see this team being very good if only they had a decent coach at the helm

Are you out of your mind Bucknut102? there was a group of people who didn't just try to hurt Jordan, they tried to physically intimidate, and punish him. They were called the BAD BOYS. Every year for 8 or nine years these two teams beat the crap out of each other, and that is part of what made jordan the greatest player of the 1990's. And a moving pick got you upset? Really? either you are two young to remember or you didn't watch back then, but the NBA was bigger than the NFL, when it was a man's league. Nowadays the NBA is the third biggest sport in the U.S., fourth if you count NASCAR as a sport. The NBA is as soft as Charmin!!

Not only what encyclopedia said, but are you really saying Eddie Jordan is a bad coach? You must be out of your mind. The man could be coach of the year. He kept this team over .500 with two All-Stars out for a big part of the season, beating Boston 3 times! He kept them focused and disciplined. Regardless to your idea that they have no discipline just because they go out there and knock a few people around. Physicality is needed in this league and players shouldn't be punished for giving it. Also, this team is pretty good and can do some damage, they've just been hit with the injury bug in recent years. Hopefully they can keep both Arenas and Jamison in the off season and come back healthy next year.

The NBA was NEVER bigger than the NFL.
Jordan complained every time he was whacked like that. A foul is a foul. The Bad Boys were great at it because they made an attempt to look like they went for the ball and blasted tha player. It was good , hard, playoff, in the lane, defense, but Jordan would still complain when he was hit the same way.
Jordan was the king of taking that extra step and pushing off if necessary. He got more calls because of who he was than anyone else.
I think it was even more physical when Bird and Magic started.

Are you kidding me? He shouldn't have even been ejected. Cleveland fans stop crying and take your skirts off as well as Lebron's. Does anybody remember the old Bulls/Knicks series of the 90's or the Bulls/Pistons where there were so much contact that you thought it was UFC fighting. But no one complained back then they just manned up. And don't even get me started on the old Lakers/Pistons and Lakers/Celtics rivalries of the 80's. I mean you talk about henchman but it still turned out to be some of the best basketball from a skill level ever watched. That foul on LeBron was a foul, but it wasn't nearly as traumatic as people made it out to be. Take LeBron's skirt off cuz he's gonna get contact and he needs to embrace it. At 6'9 240 he should be able to take it without crying and he did play high school football as a WR so he shouldn't be doing any complaining at all. If Allen Iverson as small as he is can take the punishment all these years without complain then LeBron James huge a$$ needs to know every team is coming at him like that and suck it up.
Hate these new school cry baby players thinking they are entitled to calls.

Barkley spent the majority of his time in the Bad Boys/ MJ era and while he said hard fouls are a part of playoff basketball, that one was clearly a cheap shot, not a hard foul. Learn the difference, Einstein.
