Keep it up Valverde, I think your ERA is under 9 now, but I'm still waiting for another implosion after the first 3 games or so. Keep proving me wrong please!

Valverde does it again, another save tonight, although he didnt make it easy. He had 1 out with a man on 3rd, then got Ankiel to strike out, intentionally walked Pujols, and then got the last out on a pop up. Good job V., keep it up!

I was impressed by the way he handled that actually. That strike-out of Ankiel was huge. With a man on third and one out, that's crucial, and he got it done. This is very good news anyways; we're finally finding ways to win. Good call by Coop to walk Pujols too, although that seemed like a given in my opinion.
That's a great win though. We're finally seeing the close games going our way, and we can finally breath a little bit now that we're back to .500. And poor Chacon... The man can't buy a win, despite pitching better than 99% of the starting pitchers in the league right now.

You're right about Chacon too, but I'd like to see him have a little better control (e.g. not so many walks). I didn't get to see the game today or watch the update, but I saw we lost in the 9th when we were tied 3-3. What happened, I see Valverde didn't blow it, and now it feels retarded to ask why Valverde wasn't in during the 9th to keep it tied. Was it because the coaches wanted to save Valverde for extra innings if we could get out of the 9th still tied? Thats my guess at least.

Its a good thing you aren't the manager Tarcane, if you even had to wonder why Valverde wasn't in the ninth of that game. It is great to see him back on track, though. Jose is the last thing Coop should be "on the fence" about at the end of a tough game.

Hey astrofan5, thanks for the smarta$$ comments, I'm no baseball expert and I don't pretend to be one, thats the point of asking a question. Thanks for your insight though, tool!

The greatest closer of All-time, San Diego Padre Trevor Hoffman has allowed at least one run in four of his nine appearances this year. You 'Stros fans had to see Lance Berkman's three-run bomb, it was in the opening series at Petco Park against Hoffman. Valverde however, has four saves in seven opportunities. After carving his name into the ranks as the Saves Leader in 2007 with 47, I feel that it is way too early in the season to be putting people to rest. Instead of calling for Jose's head, how about Borkowski!
