Brian Brohm was just what the doctor ordered in Green Bay.  He was a steal that late in the 2nd round and should have gone before Flacco.  That is is hier apparent to Brett Favre- not Aaron Rogers.

That's debatable.  I remember a few years back when Aaron Rodgers was in this position, and people not only had him rated as the best pick of the draft, but as their number one overall.  Granted, the people that mattered thought Alex Smith was better and Aaron Rodgers fell like a rock, but you get the idea.  Wait and see, neither has had the chance to prove themselves yet.

I couldn't agree more.  Brohm will be taking over for Favre halfway through the season, if not by the first game; Rogers just can seem to get it done.

Stoked to have Brohm in GB.  I agree a steal at this point in the draft.

Well said Fozzie. I'm a Giants fan so I have no bias about this subject. I saw Brohm play a lot this year and was impressed with him. Like you said: "It was a steal getting him this late." I also believe that he will be the Packers QB of the future.

5'd everyone.

I think at this point it is a good pick; we haven't seen much of Aaron Rogers, so it's hard to make a call.

I'm not excited for the ensuing quarterback controversy but this was the right move for Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers had the starting job locked up for, oh, about a month, and now he'll have to earn it - like he should. I predict that whoever wins the QB battle in training camp will be the Packers franchise quarterback for the next five to seven years.

I think this is the best team that Brohm could have gone to. As a Louisville and Green Bay fan, it will be nice to see Brohm be put in a situation with Jason Spitz blocking for him again (another Louisville guy drafted a couple years ago)..and good WR core. Hopefully they will let him loose and throw downfield like Favre would have. Brohm is fearless enough to make any throw and will show that.

I am also surprised Flacco went before Brohm. Brohm is a good/great pick for GB.

Rodgers in the little game time he has played, has looked good and he knows their offense, so I don't see much chance that Brohm will start this season. You do need a good backup QB, if you want to make it through the playoffs.  And the competition should be a positive motivator. If Rodgers leads GB into the playoffs this year , then I can see him start being called the heir apparent....Of course, IF by the 5th week GB is below 500 we should see Brohm on the field!
