Can't agree with you more slobberknocker. Great Post. The Eagles always make the best of their picks. If they liked someone in the first they would have taken them, but they didn't so they trade down and get what they want plus some. How awesome was it to see Jackson at pick 49!

Wait!!!!!!!!! Who are you guy's gonna throw the ball too? I hope not the same BUM's you had last year? Looks like you guy's are gonna have alot of 7-0 L's! You guy's should use all those pick's next year and draft as many WR's as you can! Must say your D is gonna be pretty sick! I did like their move too! The Eagles are gonna have a sweet draft next year!

Just when did the Eagles feel the strategy of "Let all the other teams take multiple picks in the high end of the draft, while we trade down cause we don't have any needs to fill with 1st rounders", would make them any better? They lost ALOT of ground to Dallas and Washington. Then the Eagles draft two good players, one of which is SMALLEST of all the other recievers available. Now they still got the problem of probably having TO BEG LILO to stay with the team after all the insulting gestures they gave him. REAL SMART!!!! Oh here we go Dallas has YET ANOTHER PICK, in this second round and Eagles haven't decided which CB to take much less be anywhere near being able to draft him.

I thought it was a poor move at first, as I was really looking forward to picking up either James Hardy or DeSean Jackson in the first round. But even before Jackson fell to the Eagles in the 2nd round I realized that it wasn't a bad move at all. They could pick up DL in the 2nd or 3rd round to fill the only real hole on defense IF Lito stays and Brown gets converted to safety (which it looks like it is going to happen). Plus we got a 1st rounder next year, when they will really need it. AND THEN we got DeSean anyway!
With their 2nd round picks, they are only 1 offensive weapon away from being top of the NFC East hands down, and quite possibly top of the NFC again. With the handful of defensive players we will see in the next few rounds they should be set on the defense side of the ball, and I still think they can wait til next year to repair their aging offensive line. But thats just my opinion.
Good job Eagles, I look forward to day 2!

Stupid move??
They picked up 2 guys with a late-first round grade, an extra #4 AND a #1 next yr, which could be a Top 5-10 pick.
Yea wow, what a bad draft.
Idiot.

Come on guys, Jackson from Cal is a solid pickup for a WR. I loved that pick and there is no true standout WR this year. Sure, I would have liked Phillips the S the Giants got or Talib the CB from Kansas who went at 20 when we picked 19, but there is not a ton of standout players in this years draft. Several people have said it but there is still good talent in the later rounds and Ried always loves to have 10-12 picks in each draft so he can shuffle around during the draft. Fear not everyone, we haven't even gone into the second day yet. We have 10 picks left, including 4 in the fourth and sixth rounds.

top 3 reasons DeSean Jackson was a good pick.
#1. you are getting a lightining fast reciever.
#2. you get a excellent return man. (last i checked no punt or kickoff touchdowns returned for the eagles in 2007)
#3. oh yes, there are 10 more players that the eagles get to pick tomorrow.
so my final recomendation to the person who started this thread is to please pull your head out of your behind. thank you

I understand that if there are no players on your board when you pick, you look to trade down. Getting three picks was huge only if you have plans for them. The Eagles have a history of blowing first round picks and not drafting well early. It seems that there is still a possibility of Lito being traded, but I'm not too sure of what they will be getting in return. There was talk about a tackle from the Saints, and I'm pretty sure that's why they decided to move down in the draft. There's also talk from the Bucs about Lito, but nothing definitive as to what is involved. The players they drafted on day 1 definitely help this team. The questions to be answered are; are we going to draft an offensive lineman, or a defensive back. Is there a possibility of drafting another QB and try trading A. J. for whatever they can get, and do we really need to draft nine more players on day two. Stay tuned for the Reid roller coaster ride, because you never know where its going next.
