Jared Allen is great pick

I wouldn't say there isn't alot of talent later in the first round it's just how the teams rank them. I agree that Jared Allen is the best pick we have had at 17 for a while lmao.

Chad Greenway had like 102 tackles last year he will be a great OLB for us for years to come.

Udeze wasn't a bad pick either. He was a solid starter for us. He was a run stopping DE. That's what he did. He was a starter for us before he got cancer.

Adrian Peterson was a no brainer.

Bryant McKinnie, Chad Greenway, Kevin Williams were all very good picks.

Even Michael Bennett went to a pro-bowl his first year. He is at the same spot AD was in after 1 year. So still, I don't think he was a bad pick either. He just had some chronic injuries that hampered his success.

So all in all, we really only had 1 bad year in the first round. Troy Williamson and Erasmus James. It's funny because I thought we did a good job that year after the draft. I hated the Chad Greenway pick at first too. Weird how things turn out.

Going 4 or 5 out of 7 isn't bad. Concidering how you feel on Michael Bennett.

Jared Allen is an absolute great pick.  i would rather use my first for a proven and still young player at the position we need than take a gamble on someone in the draft and watch them not pan out.  i think weve been pretty good in the draft in years past but have taken a step up since Childress and Spielman got here.  heres my view:

06 Greenway will be great he showed great promise last year and if he didnt tear his knee his first year we would already be talking about him as a pro bowler

05 was a disaster for us.  if Williamson learns to catch he could revive his career but that doesnt do any good for us now and James hasnt done much for us but tear up his knees. 

04 Udeze is solid.  hes great against the run and creates good pressure.

03 self explanatory also

02 McKinnie is above average for a LT and is not a bad pick at all.  most of his sacks given up were with an immobile QB like Johnson or Slowcomb. 

01 Bennett is a record setter and Hall of Famer...for me on Madden 5 years ago.  i think  he actually wouldve been really good if he had better vision.  the guys got world class speed and great agility and i remember seeing great flashes but he just never acquired the vision he needed to take the next step.

5 out of 7 years isnt bad at all.  i'll take that anyday.  it was back and forth with Tices picks with his last year being awful.  with two first round picks that year we couldve taken a step up but instead took a step back.  seeing Childress and Spielmans drafts im a believer in their draft prowess and am certain we'll see great picks from here on.
