List of supposed cheating NCAA teams

There are 34 schools that have had NCAA tournament appearances strickened from the record books due to one thing or another. Some of these I am not sure what they actually did. Maybe posters can write what happened in some situations. Several of them are obvious though.

That's 5 Pac 10 teams, 4 Big 10 teams, 4 SEC teams, 3 ACC teams, 4 Big East teams, and 2 Big 12 teams.

I am sure someone will post a "Vote Off" thread tommorrow on the subject.  I don't know of anything because Oklahoma State is above the law.  I will wait for the "worst decision teams in history thread"...Where do I begin....Burly, Rutherford, E Sutton, Gottlieb, Gundy.....etc.

That's a lot of NCAA Violations for such a crappy program

The Western Kentucky's Men's basketball team had 4 games from the 1971 NCAA tournament vacated by the NCAA because Jim McDaniels was represented by sports agent Norman Blass.  Oviously that was significant as it stripped the Toppers of their final 4 appearence, but no other sanctions were imposed by the NCAA.

That should have read,  Western Kentucky Men's basketball team. 

GoPack, this is the whole Clem Haskins fiasco.  It's been a while so I'm not sure how accurate my memory is, but if you remember Minnesota went I believe to the national championship game...maybe in 1997?  Haskins was caught fixing grades for his players, and I believe a number of other severe violations.  Haskins got canned, and Minnesota's program was sent to the naughty chair for god knows how long.  It's taken Minnesota a long time to recover from it.

I do remember an incident where two or three gopher players picked up and gang raped a woman while here in Madison for a game.  That might have been in the 1994/95 era.  I believe Haskins was coach at that time, too.

As a UNLV fan, I really wish teams could just do things the right way...completely on the up and up.
