The Redskins offered the Bengals at least 1 and maybe 2 first-round picks for Chad Johnson, who diesn't even want to play.  The Bengals declined.

So, do you guys think the Bengals have just become stubborn and stupid over the situation?  Should they take the offer for a guy that doesn't even want to play for them?

I like it!

I'm sick of seeing players throw tantrums because they aren't on a winning team.

Its their own damn fault.  They are the ones that signed LONG term CONTRACTS for HUGE money.  They signed their rights away for that amount of time.  Why not sign shorter term contracts?  They want to have their cake and eat it too.

Dumb ass made the threat that he wasn't going play and they are calling his bluff.  Good for them.

It is really quite simple. If Chad wants to play elsewhere, write the Bengals a check for 8 million (as they wrote him for signing his five year contract (bonus of 10.5 or 11 million).

The cap hit of 8 million would hurt the Bengals this year, but having a player getting a 11 million dollar bonus for playing two years (not counting salary and benefits) is the stumbling block.

The bonus money has been paid so they can't rework the contract. So, have Chad pay back the 8 million he did not earn and then tear up the contract and trade him to the highest bidder.

It amazes me how as a society we put up with whiny and kicking and screaming adults. I didn't put up with it with my kids so even the thought of an adult doing it sickens me.

By the way, Chad won't give back the money because it is about the money. He wants more of it, if not he has a very easy solution to his problem, otherwise shut up and honor the contract you signed and keep the bonus money (paid upfront) you are still earning the next 3 years.

i dont care if they're being stubborn and stupid... im a Redskins fan and i dont want to see 2 first rounders down the tube for this whiny brat.  Even still, he's old and his play will drop significantly by next year.  In contrast, the draft gives you young players, who can be future stars

After hearing about the Redskins offer, I have to say stubborn.

You cant let a whiney little bitch dictate what you are going to do. He signed a contract now he has to live with it or pay the price. He can sit for a year and some other team will pay the price but it will cost him money and time and he cant get either back. Chad the little bitch will fold.

The funny thing is that NO ONE in the NFL outside of the Bengals organization can say a bad thing about CJ other than he fails to make some very easy plays sometimes.

This makes me think the problem is not only CJ. It could be the Bengals organization. Looking at their recent problems (yes, when you have players arrested, it's a problem - especially when it repeatedly happens with different players) I have to think some of Chad Johnson's complaints (which have been private for a while according to just about everyone who is involved with the matter) are down right legitimate.

Not that it's going to happen, but I'd like to see him play under Bill Belichick. I bet he has an elite year.

It could turn out to be different, but Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson are NOT similar. TO tried to rip apart two teams over money issues. Chad Johnson might be headed down that path too, but I (in my opinion) think there is more to this than we are seeing.

Isn't Chad Johnson the one who stood up for Chris Henry and said "We shouldn't judge him based on his latest arrest, we don't know the whole story." The problem is Chad Johnson. If I was the Bengals, I would tell him to restructure his contract so their isn't an 8 million dollar salary cap hit, and then tell him to find a team that will make a trade. This is not Cinci's fault.
