I would much rather watch the fun and gun Suns with marion that didn't win a championship, than the sluggish shaq led team that won't win one either. I thought the trade sucked when it happened, and I still do?

Shawn Marion was going to leave anyways...  He had been unhappy in Phoenix  for a while...

I would NOT call this a "Shaq-led" Team.  It is still led by Steve Nash with Amare Stoudemire as the primary scorer.

They are not "sluggish", they just have a true half-court offense now, being able to dump it to Shaq and let him work the paint.  The main reason for the trade was to get a big defender in the post and stop Duncan.

Now, they need someone to guard Tony Parker and help on Manu.  In the regular season, it looked like the trade was turning out to work just fine... The Suns shot themselves in the foot Game One, and should have won.  They killed themselves again in the third quarter last night.  They were still in the game after being down by fifteen.  Don't count out Phoenix until they lose at home, I'm confident they can steal a game in San Antonio if they put a 48-minute effort together...

Marion was the most versatile player on the team, but not really treated that way.  He would have been the one guarding parker or ginobli.  The Suns might have gone to the finals if it were not for Stoudamire idiotically leaving the bench!

If the goal is to win a championship, and it should be, you need to move forward.  The fact that you prefer the pre-Shaq team shows how little you know about this sport.

trading for a just about finished up center sure is not moving forward. He may give them a little this year, but he is going to dereriorate through next season and beyond.  HE WILL NOT WIN THE Suns A CHAMPIONSHIP.  Just like Jason Kidd will not win the Mavs a ring.  THey did not move forward, so stop questioning my knowledge of the sport.

I keep saying it over and over.  The Suns were closer to a championship with Marion, they will ever get with Shaq.  This would have been the Suns year had they hung in there.  Marion is a 3 point threat, a fastbreak phenom, and a decent defender that can play a whole game.

I clapped for joy when the trade was announced, because I knew the Suns made it that much easier for the Spurs.  The Suns can now beat us in 2 or 3 quarters, but lose the game.  With Marion, the Suns could win by 10, or lose 3.  This series is OVER...

When this trade happened, I thought "I bet the Suns' faithful are secretly mad". And now, I can almost assure you they are. Bad trade, you are almost there so many times...and you think a shell of his former self big man is worth more than a man that can do it all.

Bad trade then, even worse now Suns.
