Honestly, What is this guy swinging at? FOUR K's tonight vs. the A's and all strikeouts have been junk in the dirt or far outside. They keep pitching him away and he chases it everytime....EVERYTIME, and not just this game, other teams are picking up on it and they do the same thing.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what he's trying to prove at the plate.  Unfortunately for us, he is more dangerous on the bag than at the plate, we just have to get him there somehow.

Has anyone seen him sit on the first pitch?  I know Torii was even known for being inpatient, but this is kind of ridiculous.

I think he needs to spend some time with Vavra. He should get better at it. As long as Gardenhire lets him play and learn on the fly, I am ok with it. This year was supossed to be a learning experience. Right?

Gomez doesn't look like a guy who has spent 4 years in professional baseball...I don't know anything about the Mets minor league organization, but I have to wonder if the coaching in their organization is terrible, or if Gomez didn't take instruction well, or what.  But yes, w3027193 he needs to spend a lot of time with Vavra.

I expect a .210/.250/.270 and about 200 strikeouts out of him this year.  Not good.  But Vavra has to be able to help him.  Seeing him try to lay down a sac bunt on Sunday was one of the most awkward looking things I've EVER seen a professional athlete attempt.

As of now, Gomez is on pace to rival Adam Dunn for the most strikeouts in a season (195).  If anyone can, Gomez can.

I think he is doing an OK job, you had to know he wasnt gunna hit over .300 like he did the first 2 weeks.  They knew pitchers would figure him out and begin to throw him sliders outside with 2 strikes.  I think the Twins have regressed him so far this season.   If you have watched him the last week he has been watching the first pitch go by.  So he begins with a strike on him, then he has seemed to take a big cut at the second strike missing or fouling it off now with 2 strikes he has had better swings but cant find a way to lay off the slider breaking away or the curve that hits the plate.  I say let him rip at that first ptich it seems to be the best pitch he sees.

I think he will figure it out around June and cut the strike outs down.  Though he stuck out 4 times last night he fouled off some good pitches.  it wasnt throw 3 pitches past him liek what happened early in the season, he did do a decent job fouling off some pitches but couldnt find a way to put one in play.

Gomez is are best leadoff hitting option, and best CF we have.  I like Gardy keep giving him CF everyday, sometimes it hurts a guy to take him out of the line up when he is struggling.  I believe Gomez will figure it out a little bit more as the season goes on, it seasons he wants to learn, let him figure out the pitchers and let him figure out the bigs and he will be fine.  If he can learn to hit a ggrounder in  1/2 his strike out he would have a handful of hits.  If he learns to  just put the ball in play he will beat out some hits and make fielders hurry and make mistakes.

Patience. Patience. Patience. We could use a little and so could Gomez. He is still really young and his bat will come around. He struck out a lot in the minors too so it will take a little while with Vavra and Mauer to get him on the right foot. The biggest thing for him is learning to draw some walks. He didnt really walk a lot in the minors and he ceratinly isnt now. He has to figure out a way to get on base with the batters he has behind him.
