The college game and NFL are two different leagues and just because your a good college player doesn't mean you will make it in the NFL and vice versa. I didn't see many games of Trent Edwards for Stanford, mostly because I didn't give an F about the team but I know the team was shitty, and it wasn't just his fault. The problem with some of the guys that are drafted is that they are surrounded by fellow first rounders which make them look better. If your a QB for a top 25 team it probably means you have an all conference RB or WR along side of you as well while Trent was left helpless. Bottom line is that Trent won the job over JP because of his pocket presense and his ability, just the opposite of what you say, to avoid the oncoming rush....now put him on a top tier team and what would happen? There is one other thing that Trent and any qb that comes out of a college like Stanford has that a guy from Ohio State doesn't, and that's a brain cell. Intelligence and smarts gets you further in the NFL then talent 9 out of 10 times
