I recently looked at a NBA mock draft at nbadraft.net.  I was trying to see where they had projected Bill Walker to go.  After about 5 mins of searching I'd found him.  He is predicted to go at pick 36........in next years draft.  He wasn't even listed in the top 60 for this year.  Does he want out of Manhattan that bad?  If he came back next year, he would be scoring option #1.  I think he could average 20 and 6.  Those numbers should easily propel him into the first round next year.  I know he wants the money and I know he wants to live out his lifelong "dream", but if he doesn't come back he'll be just another forgotten about D-League player.  I hope that doesn't happen.  His shot has to improve, and he has to become a better ball handler.  There is no room for a 6'6" forward in the NBA where guards are as tall as 6'9".  I hope somebody can reach Bill and tell him it's not the right move.

I think it will be good for him to get to the combines to see what he does need to improve on to be successful in the draft next year. I'm sure time and time again it will be his mid range shot and ball handling skills as well as court emotions.  Noone wants another Dennis Rodman. He definitely needs another year to improve those things and up his playing time and money in NBA ten fold.

i have a feeling he will be back. he is a hell of a player when he wants to be. but he is to immature to play against the tracy mcgradys and kobes of the nba. he needs to come back to college and mature more!!

I think it just depends on if he impresses anyone in the tryouts/games in the Draft workouts.  I think he would be better off coming back but if he has a good outing in workouts his stock will rise.  As for not wanting another Rodman?  Man I would love the have a Rodman on my team but the young Dennis (his first 4 years)  He is a big reason that the teams he was on won championships.  He was the ultimate hustle player, rebound, Defense, i loved Dennis Rodman.  Didn't care for the pin cusion look or the crazy hair but boy that guy played hard.

I think that a lot of the guys who "test the waters" are doing so more for an evaluation of sorts than a serious contention to enter the draft that year.  Look at Chalmers from KU, nowhere near ready for the NBA, but would probably like the feedback of where he could fit next year.  If Walker comes back, and I'm sure he will, I could see him potentially fitting in well in the NBA the following year.  He potentially could have the ability to create his offense in the NBA, and that is often what leaves college stars on the outside looking in at the next level.

For the most part, all these young players "testing the waters" will all be gone next year as well as you can only do that once and the next year you declare you have to go.  It would be awesome to see Bill come back next year and leave as we have two four star recruits coming in 09. As for the Rodman statement, I meant his emotional side of what we saw on the court of him, and Bill does have the power and a lot of similarities of Rodman.  For the team though, he made it rough for them.  Great to watch, but had some off the court issues and teammate issues from what I recall of him, but I never got to see him when he first arrived in the league, only at the end of his career.
