Seattle isn't supporting there team. Therefore, they should be able to leave. What does it matter if Oklahoma City Sonics doesn't fit? Does the moniker Lakers fit with Los Angeles? Hell no! But when LA stole the Lakers from Minnesota, they kept the name.

Seattle is supporting this team. In fact there was a legit proposal for private financing for an arena upgrade, but the Carpetbagger isn't going to do anything that would prevent him from moving the team back to Oklahoma.

Hate to tell you guys this, but Boeing ain't been in Seattle for quite a few years. OKC is just as legit a place to have a team called the Sonics as is Seattle. Which is to say it fits neither city.

Actually no seattle was NOT supporting the team. The original owner tried for some time to get a new arena build and finally gave the ultimatum that no new arena then he was going to sell or move the team. Guess what he sold the team and now that the team is on the way out all of the sudden yall want to get an arena done now. Too little to late. The only reason this guy is gonna sue now is cause he doesn't want to be the bad guy who sold the team to the people who moved it. Too little to late seattle.

Actually whether or not Oklahoma City Sonics sounds "right" or not, and whether or not the current team logo "works" in Oklahoma City doesn't matter. Seattle will be keeping the rights to the nickname SuperSonics as well as the team colors, to preserve the history of the franchise should another team (possibly a future expansion team) ever end up in Seattle.

Does Okalahoma City Sonics sound right to you?
Yes, it really sounds pretty good to me.

The sonic referred to in Seattle has to do with Boeing. But you probably didn't know that OKC is the home of Tinker Air Force Base - when jets still fly "super-sonic". OKC is also national headquarters for the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). But the reason I like it best is OKC is the national headquarters for Sonic Drive-in, the nations largest Drive-in Restaurant Chain.

There is, however, no expectation the name “Sonics” will be retained. Naming contests and rights just bring more fan attention and participation.

Poor, poor Seattle, if you’d just buy tickets and fill you arena it would have never been an issue – the team would have never been for sale! But little bitty cow town OKC had the NBA highest percentage of capacity in the Ford Arena while the Hornets were in town for two years (and the second highest total attendance). OKC will very likely sell-out season tickets within 30 days of them being offered.

Poor, poor Seattle, wouldn’t pass a bond issue to do anything for their Sonics. Oklahoma City has passed two MAJOR bond issues, which NBA commissioner said placed OKC in the forefront of NBA expansion. Don’t count on getting a franchise to replace the Sonics – you poor, poor sports.

Clay Bennett’s emails and comments might well have been used against him and against relocation IF Seattle had shown even the slightest attempt at retaining their (former) team. So quit your bellyaching and accept the stadium contract buy-out offer or you’ll get the specific performance being requested. The cow town boys will just pay rent on the stadium in Seattle – and let it sit empty – empty – empty. Sure hope you don’t want a concert or convention in the next couple of years.

Thanks! We're fighting mad and will not let this go uncontested. With this lawsuit the actions of Bennett and his group will fully come out including the unusual relationship that Stern has in this hijacking attempt.

Now that is Bull....

Seattle had more fans going to the games regularly than Memphis, Atlanta and New Orleans.

The only reason Bennett and Stern want to move the team is because they can't get the big ticket revenue streams. I.E. Restaurants, Parking etc. Also one other point, if the owners would really work at selling the luxury boxes we would not of had this problem, from what I understand they don't even try cause they would have to share the revenue.

Actually from a fan standpoint the Key is an excellent place to watch a game. The fans are very close to the action and you can see everything.
