1. Miami: Jake Long OT Michigan

They have a lot of weaknesses obviously. Jake Long would fit right into the rigth tackle position and help a pretty bad offensive line. While many mock drafts have Chris Long being drafted here, I don't think he would have as much as an impact as an OT who can help the team from day one by making life easier for their best player in Ronnie Brown. Unless Jason Taylor is traded thus making room for Chris Long to rush the qb with Matt Roth, I think it would be a smart pick for Miami to take an offensive lineman.

2. St. Louis: Chris Long DE Virginia

Chris Long rushing along side of Leonard Little is going to make trouble for a lot of NFL offenses next year if St. Louis gets the opportunity to draft him. Obviously if Miami doesnt take him St. Louis will not hesitate by adding this beast to their defense.

3. Atlanta: Matt Ryan QB Boston College

Boy, Atlanta must be biting themselves for dealing Matt Schaub because they really could have benefited from Glen Dorsey with really no good DTs on their team. Matt Ryan is a good traditional pocket passer and will really improve the teams offense next year.

4. Oakland: Glen Dorsey DT LSU

They have Justin Fargas, LaMont Jordan, & Dominic Rhodes...they dont need another rb. Darren McFadden is a great player, but it makes sense to draft Glen Dorsey here because they have no pass rush. Their defense will be really good next year if they get him.

5. Kansas City: Darren McFadden RB Arkansas

They need offensive line help and secondary help but they'll get pressure off Larry Johnson and Brodie Croyle if they get McFadden. Remember they drafted Larry Johnson six years ago as insurance for an injuried Priest Holmes in the 1st round of the 2003 NFL draft...i think they should do the same here.

6 New York (Jets): Vernon Gholston OLB/DE Ohio State

No brainer, he is going to make an immediate impact. They could have used an offensive playmaker with McFadden by i dont believe he will fall to them. Look to the 2nd round to see them draft a running back who will split time with Thomas Jones.

7. New England: Ryan Clady OT Boise State

Horrible performance in the Super Bowl exposes age of the offensive line. If Meriweather moves to CB or they sign another CB vetern (....Ty Law...even though he left on bad terms) and Seau returns, the Patriots look to make another big run without any big weaknesses

 8. Baltimore: Sedrick Ellis NG USC

They need offensive help. First round I see them getting Ellis to help McGahee while second round I see them getting a QB like Woodson or Brohm.

Either Long at the top is a given, and Matt Ryan to Atlanta is a no brainer, but I just dont know about McFadden passing by Oakland, they have done some pretty dumb things in the past but I would see them picking Ellis over Dorsey if they were to go that direction.  As for the Pats, they need CB more than anything else but i honestly see them trading this pick especially if McFadden is still there.  Here is a scarry idea, what if McFadden falls to 7 and New England trades that pick to the Bengals for Chad Johnson?

I'd like it if the Jets were able to trade down to 10-12 and grab another CB that can play at RCB beside Darrelle Revis, someone like Dominique Rogers-Cromartie. Then in that trade we would have aquired a 2nd round, making us have 2 second round picks which we could use on a WR like Mario Manningham or Early Doucet, then the other one on a TE (like Fred Davis) or a QB (like Joe Flacco or Andre Woodson).

we would have also aquired a late round pick by trading out of the top 10 (probable 6th rounder), but first use our first 4th rounder on a OT (Carl Nicks, with law troubles and weight issues, he should lose draft stock).

I have NO idea why you would figure that the Chiefs would take McFadden. They HAVE to take an OL in the 1st round. If J. Long isn't there, it will be Clady or Albert.

why would you settle with an above-average blocker when you can have an amazing running back? it's similar to the Reggie Bush situation two years ago when New Orleans had a star running back who was injury prone (deuce) and had no defense, but got Bush because he would prove to be more valuable to the team than fixing their defense. Running back combos have been proved to be more sucessful recently in the NFL anyways.. plus would you rather watch the Chiefs if they got another lineman or a star running back...think about which would fill more seats!

I believe they would be in a situation where superb talent is superior to a team's need. It makes football and business sense to get him if he is there.

How about the Jets trading for atlanta's pick at #3 to move up to get Mcfadden?

I have to agree with  balz.  No way KC takes McFadden.  They have way too many other needs.
