Well Auburn just switched to a spread offense.  I really really doubt their ability to grasp that in one year with a new QB.  Seriously in about a year or 2 the west is going ot be run by Arkansas, Bama, Auburn, and Miss State.  I leave LSU out b/c I still think that Les Miles is running tha tprogram into the ground.  They won a NC this past season on talent that was not his.  If Miles wins with his own talent then I will give him the proper respect.  Until then he is nothing more than a boob.

If Miles wins with his own talent , "Then I will give him the proper respect?"'!  Bwahhaaaaaaaaaaaaa! What other talent did he have to deal with this year, besides his the cards he was dealt with?

Well lets be honest...Les Miles walked into the best situation he could possibly be in.  I mean Saban had LSU loaded when he left.  i still dont see why LSU fans hate him as much as they do.  He brought them out of the gutter and to the top of the sec west.  Despite teh fact he bailed on them LSU is 100 times in better shape now than they were in 1999.

Where i'm having a problem is that you seem to be trying to pull Ark back down to the Ole Miss, Miss St., South Carolina, Vandy level or something...at least it looks that way to me. If you are...then that is a flat out mistake.

There is no doubt that Arkansas has been a much better program the last 3 years than Ole Miss.  There is no doubt Arkansas was a much better program than Ole Miss in the 80's.

I will admit that every single day of the week and twice on Saturdays.

I think you will agree that Ole Miss was a better program than Arkansas from 1990 to 1997.

I think one area of disagreement is on how far apart OM and Arkansas were from 1998 to 2004.

Arkansas beat OM head to head 4-3 in that time period.  The deciding factor was a 7 overtime victory.   Arkansas SEC record was 29-27, Ole Miss was 28-28 (7 OT win once again the factor).  Arkansas was 8-16 against the top 5 teams in the conference (8-17 if if you count championship game), Ole Miss was 7-15 against the top 5 teams in the conference. (FL, GA, LSU, TN, AU).

Now we both know OM fell from being a mediocre SEC team to being a bottom feeder after Orgeron took over.  But I think we disagree on how much Arkansas rose.

Arkansas was 3-6(3-7) against the same top 5 teams in the conference from 2005 to 2007.  This is virtually identical to how Arkansas fared from 1998 to 2004.  Arkansas overall conference record was 13 - 11(13-12), slightly better than 1998 to 2004 and that is going 3-0 against Ole Miss who was much worse in that time period.

So has Arkansas been better than Ole Miss the last 4 years? Yes

Has Arkansas been better than Ole Miss since 1980? Yes

Has Arkansas reached the level of Auburn yet?  No

Then why throw him under the bus and say he destroyed the program?

because he did. he took a naional contender and in three years mad.e them irrelevant. now, do i believe he could've turned it around? Maybe -but we will never know that will we.and if Hatfield was such a god cach then why the steady decline w/clemson? hmm...

And as for Danny, he was a better coach than Nutt and Hatfield combined. How can i say that?check and see if either one of those two have a national championsip trophy handy. No?well Danny does.

Do you not see they hypocrisy when in one hand you say a coach destroyed the program and then in the other hand say he wasn't given enough time? Hmmm...now that's just interesting.

Steady decline? Hatfield won the Conference title his second year not his first...so that's not a decline that's a step up from the first.

First year...10-2 and tied for 2cd in conference

Second year...9-2-1....first in conference

Third year...5-6....7th in conference

4th year...8-3...tied for 3rd in conference.

Overall 32-13-1....Hardly the work of someone who destroyed the program....and yes he wasn't given enough time.

He also was having to go up against Georgia Tech in '90 who won the NC, and Florida St who won or split in '92, '93....all years Hatfield was competing and 3/4 years competed against these very well.

So give the guy a freakin' break. Destroyed the program? Unbelievable. He won 70% of his games at Clemson. 75% at Arkansas.

Ford won 76% while at Clemson....46% at Arkansas.

Ford was a great coach for Clemson....but Ark should never had hired him. He had lost interest big time and ran the program into the ground. He had a horrible relationship with the High School Coaches in state and overall would have rather been fishin' instead of coaching.

A motivated Ford....yes....great coach. What Ark got....horrible.

So does freakin' Bobby Ross...was anybody bangin' his door down wanting him to coach their team afterward...hell no.

Like I said....if Ford would have put everything into it like he did with Clemson in the 80's well then it might have worked out. He didn't....was unmotivated...and Ark paid the price.
