Muschamp is glad to be going to a team with an offense.  Auburn has had a terrible offense recently, especially this year where they finished ranked 97th in total offense.  I'm sure he won't miss all those 3 and out Tiger offensive series.  Muschamp probably wondered whose side Tiger QB Brandon Cox was on at times.  I don't think the office door at Jordan Hair Stadium hit him on the way out.  He probably wishes his new Texas defense could match up against last year's Auburn's offense, but who doesn't.  Muschamp may get bored at Texas because the Horn offense will control the ball, move the chains, and score some points for a change.  He'll have alot more free time during games and his players will have time to rest.  However, he'll need that free time to formulate a plan on stopping the high power air game most Big 12 teams have.

How bad the Auburn offense was is really a testament on how good a job Muschamp did with the Auburn defense.

rpm818,

Man i can not argue with you one bit.  I am an Auburn graduate living in Nashville, Tn.  My last year at Auburn was the 2004 season when we had Jason Campbell, Ronnie Brown, & Cadillac Williams in the backfield at one time.  Needless to say, while I was at Auburn the office was far from bland or lacking.   Ever since that season we have had success as far as wins and losses are concerned, but not a lot of record breaking offensive stats.  Muschamp is a great DC and will be greatly missed from the Auburn Family.  We now have Paul Roades and are extremely happy and excited about the future especially with the new offense coming in.  Good luck to the HORNS this season and War DA** EAGLE!

He is a huge plus for Texas' defense. I'm not sure about Major Applewhite being hired as the offensive coordinator though; I know it's his alma mater and all, but he only has like a year's experience.

Great just what Texas needs a defense! If he does what he did at Auburn, Texas will have another title. I don't like Texas, but that is a little scary.

if muschamp could stop sec offenses, we will have little trouble stopping big 12 offenses. opposing offenses might score 14-21 points a game just cause every other play is a hail mary but that will be sufficient to win games. he will not have the overall athletes at texas that he has had at auburn, but all you really need in the big 12 (for the most part, against most teams) is a few stellar corners and a decent defensive front. i would love to call him a traitor, but it would just be out of disappointment. i hate to see him go, but we have a good thing going on the plains right now. i just wish we would have stuck around to defend along side our new offense. we should score 30+ points a game this year, and we will definitely not lose 4 games like last year. good luck horns and war d@mn eagle.

with jamaal charles leaving early for the nfl, the starting job is open.  chris ogbonnaya is a senior,  bigger back used mostly for 3rd downs....will most likely remain in that role, though is getting his fair shot to compete for the starting job.  vondrell mcgee is a sophomore who played sparingly last year as charles' backup.  foswhitt whittaker is a redshirt freshman who surprised the coaches this spring....he was a bit further along than they expected.

nobody won the spot this spring.  the coaches are keeping the battle going into the fall and it will be rb by committee in the first few games until one of them win it.  i would say most people feel the battle is between mcgee and whittaker, with mcgee probably winning in the end, but it is hard to be certain since most people have never seen whitakker run.  no matter what, we'll probably be seing a good bit of all 3 of them all year long.
