As was Bill Self in his postgame interview thanking the prior players and coaches for building Kansas into the program that he took over, saying "they made my job a lot easier". Classy.

For an angry UNC fan that kind of pissed me off a little. Right after they get embarrassed by KU. That ain't right. I love Roy but please dont ever do that again. If you're there just wear a blank shirt instead of a KU.

It was wrong of him, it shows he was thinking about his decision to leave Kansas, and that maybe it was a mistake....Also shows, when you cant beat em, join em.

Roy is a soft headed tit, I would be pissed if I was a UNC fan, two days after getting killed by Kansas you don a Kansas sticker and root for your old team. I know they have history together but hey the principle of what Roy Williams did was a disgrace. UNC you have a d$%#less coach pulling a stunt like that. I guess if you can't beat them, join them, right?

I didn't like it but I understand it. bad timing. If we had lost to UCLA and he was at the game I could accept it a lot better, but having lost to Kansas and he needed to be in Chapel Hill with his players.

that really bothered me. one day after getting smoked by kansas he is supporting them on the sidelines. i guess he was trying to make a point to the fans that are bitter at him but still doesnt seem right.

I wonder how Roy's UNC players felt seeing that big ole jayhawk on their coaches shirt? I can't imagine them feeling all warm and fuzzy over it!

You have shown more dignity and class than some so-called UNC fans. Thank you. I think Williams is the epitomy of class and just showed support for a program that gave him his first head coaching job. For people to say that wearing a stupid pin influenced his decision making in the game, showed more loyalty to Kansas, etc is just plain ignorant and petty. Its not like he is going back to Kansas or something. Thanks for showing being open minded and unbiased in your comments. While I am not a Kansas fan, Kansas deserved the win and NC as they played the best basketball in the Final Four and took advantage of their opponets' weaknesses and mistakes. For any person to say that UNC had a poor season or "choked" is not looking at the overall picture. Best record in school history, ACC regular and Tournament titles, East Region Champions all say something. Yes, they played their worst half of basketball this year but Kansas played their best half of basketball at the same time. Remember that we are talking about 18-21 year olds here, not professionals. I am proud of the UNC players and Williams for a GREAT season and hopefully they will all return for another great run.
Another thing that has bothered me is that, unlike kansasgirl41, a lot of Kansas fans need to show more class and get over Williams leaving. Were you that critical and childish when Larry Brown took off for greener (money) pastures and left the program on probation. No one wanted the job except Williams and all he did was make Kansas better instead of the laughing stock it was. The only year Kansas did not make the NCAA Tourney was Williams first year as they couldn't go that year anyway. Fourteen years in a row, four Final Fours, plus putting Kansas back among the elite programs. Man, get a grip. What are Kansas fans going to say if Self leaves for the $6 million dollar bonus and $4 million dollar a year salary OSU is offering to coach his alma mater? This is not life or death but ultimately a just a game and in reality a business.
I am proud to be a college basketball fan and even prouder to be a UNC fan for 40 years. I wouldn't trade Williams for any other coach or bash this team for their accomplishments and closeness. There were 61 other teams that wished they were where UNC ended up in the Final Four, so let's all just enjoy the ride those kids and Williams gave all of us. We can't realistically expect perfection or a national championship every year. Live and learn from mistakes. Elite Eight to Final Four to NC if they all stay. Let's hope for the best. GO HEELS!!!

It was a huge disappointment for me to see Roy wearing a Kansas pin on his shirt! I understand he WAS the coach at Kansas for 15 years, but he is NOW the coach of UNC and has been for five years. UNC was whipped by Kansas two days before and now he is sporting their gear. I think Dean needs to stop by the office this week for a little talk. I'm still in shock from the game and to see this last night is a bad way to end the season.

Thank you for the nice comment. I hope a lot of Kansas fans have moved on, from the several ku fans i talked to after the game, they said it was a great thing for Roy to do and they have no hurt feelings towards him. My brother was like seeing Roy out there was a nice highlight to the game.
Kansas/ UNC will always be like brothers. I dont see how any Kansas fan could say they choked or vise versa because we have so much intermingling between the two programs it is crazy. We should be supporting each other through and through

I can tell you right now that the Carolina players didn't like Roy wearing that KU logo on his shirt. Don't you all remember what Sean May did to Coach Robinson's Kansas T-Shirt after they made the Final 4 in '05? He tore it to pieces.
I have no problem with Roy being at the game and cheering Kansas on. But He should have been wearing a UNC shirt. That is his team and he needs to be reppin' them 24/7.
I understand he has a love for Kansas and that's fine. Dean Smith is a Kansas alumn, Roy Williams was his protoge', but did we see Coach Smith in the stands rockin' a KU shirt in '91? Did Roy attend the UNC/Michigan game in '93 wearing Carolina Blue after losing to the Heels in the semis?
He needs to get over it.

I just don't think it was right for his current players and recruits to see him wearing KU colors.
If I busted my a$$ for a coach every single day and made the necessary sacrfices that you have to make as a college athlete only to see my coach wearing the colors of a team that just handed me the most heart breaking loss of my career, I would have an issue with it.
