Don't get me wrong Bergenon is a great hockey player, but no way he is going to be anywhere's close to 100% by not playing in so long, and the Bruins are going to need more than him back to have a chance against the high flying Canadiens. My prediction, Canadiens in 5.

I agree about Bergeron. He can't be anywhere near game-shape, so it will be tough to have much impact. I do hope you are wrong with your prediction though. But I wouldn't bet against it, either. The Habs have owned the Bruins lately, and even knocked them out of the playoffs a few years back when the B's were the top seed in the East. I hope the Bruins can get some revenge now, but I wouldn't put money on it. Let's just hope we have a lot of good, hard-fought games. And let's hope all of the series are good - this is the best time of the year!

It's nice to have meaningful games this time of year for the B's. Maybe this will be bit of a boost for them. Tough to win a best of 7 series without talent but you never know!

I share your concern about Patrice--but at least Boston waited as long as it took before bringing him back. I think that bodes well for him, in that it probably means he really is as close to 100% as he can get; otherwise, they would have left him out a little longer (say, until they were down 2-0 in the series, or something). So unlike Carolina bringing back Matt Cullen way too early (and losing games because he was still out in space somewhere), Boston seems to have ridden out Bergeron's worst period.

Bergeron will give this team an emotional lift when he returns. He may be a little rusty but I think he can still help the team especially on the powerplay. The Bruins are more physical than Montreal and if they can stay out of the box they have a good chance at taking this series.

Bergeron would be a huge emotional lift for the team even if he only plays on the powerplay. No disrespect to Montreal they are a great team but if we didn't go 0-8 who would be your 1st place team? Lets go Bruins! Lets go Bruins! Lastly nobody gave the Bruins a chance to crack the top 8 they were picked dead last my most "Experts" and we did without Bergeron, Alberts, Murray, Savard and Fernandez so Mr. Experts how do you feel now! See you at the game Sunday.

If Bergeron is cleared to play, he is most likely ready to play 100%. He is a pretty disciplined professional, and has probably been ready for quite some time, as pertaining to his physical conditioning. He will most likely be more ready than several of the other Bruins players for this opportunity.

I am the biggest Bruins fan in the world and I have learned one thing over the history of this playoff matchup. The regular season means nothing. That's why it is amusing to see all of these people point to this regular season and pick because of it. Follow the history and you will see. This matchup transcends regular season point totals and always has. From Steve Penny, to the too many men call in 1979, to Jose Theodaore in 2004. Anything can, and usually does happen when these two teams meet in April.
