Which one of these young pitchers do you think will have a better season for the Reds?

Where's Bailey as an option?   I kid, I kid.   I'll go with Cueto though.

Based on his debut, I'll go with Cueto.  He looks like he could be the next great thing... but, hey, for both of them, it's just one start.  But I'm definitely excited about them!

Hopefully the Reds will be able to hang onto them long enough to have two very high quality starters in their rotation for years to come.

Haha Ortizzle!

But, seriously, give Homer some more time in the minors.  I think he'll be a pretty good Major Leaguer.  I wish it was this season, but it's better to develop him than destroy him out of over-eagerness.

I own Volquez in my fantasy league but I have to go with Cueto because both guys get strikeouts and Cueto's been a little more consistent with his control.  That said, the Reds look like they're in good shape, just think, Homer Bailey's in the minors!

I think they will both do very well, this is our year.

to me, Edinson Volquez has been more impressive because of the strike out ratio, Cueto got pulled because he was running too deep into the count, yet Volquez was on a pitch count at 95. THey both are amazing players and should be a great attribute to this awesome team.

I hope they both do great this year. Im going to have to say that Cueto will end up with a better record than Volquez (not by much though.)  As for having Bailey in the minors, I don't think he will be up here until july or august.  They've been trying way to hard to get him into the rotation and he definitely showed that he was not ready in spring training.  It is good to have that kind of talent in AAA though. If Fogg keeps pitching like he did friday night then Bailey will be up here a lot sooner.

Cueto & Volquez are both nice young pitchers. However much too early to jump on the next Mario Soto-Jose Rio bandwagon. Both Cueto & Volquez easily have the potential to meet their friend Bailey in AAA sometime this year.

Well Cueto had a good second start too. Still no walks and 18 K in 13.1 innings is outstanding. Let's hope his numbers don't fall off too much once the league has a chance to scout him a little more.

Volquez had 2 walks in 5.1 innings in his first start which is pretty good. Let's see how he does the next time out.

I think it's too early to declare one better than the other. Another factor to consider is who is going to be able to handle the long schedule of the major leagues. We all know what Dusty did to Prior and Wood in Chicago so let's hope he limits these guys innings to avoid the same type of injuries.
