Game over.  I Love LA!  Great game.  Lowe looked good.  Martin busting out of his slump and Hu's clutch hit along with some good defense by  Loney, Furcal and Dewitt.  I think we are going to win a lot of these 1 run games this year.

I love Saito. 123 three up three down. We take the first series from the Pads.

Good solid W.  Take care of those dumb errors and it's an easy win.

Great save by Takashi Saito and Russell Martin was able to make the last out and the Dodgers are now 4-2 tied with the Padres in the NL West. Derek Lowe had a decent game and it was nice to see Andre Ethier getting some good hits today. Although hats off to Rafael Furcal and Hu.

Matt Kemp and Andruw Jones looked awful this weekend series and maybe they can turn it around against the Diamondbacks.

I hope so.  Kemp did not get to many oppurtunities this series.  He needs to get some more AB's and settle down a little.  If those 2 guys get it going we will be tough everyday.

Good win today...... clutch hitting by Hu.. great job by lowe and the bullpen... nice two out of three from the Padres... If we can take two out of three in every series we'll win the division. I'm not with you guys yet on resigning Furcal... it's only been one week.. If he continues to play like he has around the All Star break... then I'd start negotiations on an extension.... not six games in to the season... We still have a long way to go and a lot of ball left to play to think about resigning people...

I'll be able to log the game tomorrow because it's on cable...

Loaiza versus Haren.... this is probably the game Dodgertown and others are NOT looking forward to.. they want Kershaw here now... and others like me...want him to have a few starts tomorrow... We'll see if Loaiza's the answer....

Go Dodgers

Good job by bleedingLAblue and Hunter on the game.  Now the Dodgers come to my backyard and hopefully sweep the Diamondbacks.  The series with the Padres is exactly what this division is all about and in a word its PITCHING.  Even the Rockies have decent arms, maybe not in the same class as the others including the Giants but all have good rotations.  I know it is Billingsley's turn but with the two relief outings, I'm wondering if they will they push him back.  Rafael Furcal, James Loney and Andre Ethier are off to good starts.  Furcal has 10 hits already in the first week and a .435 ave.  He also has driven in 3 runs and scored 3 and walked 6 times.  Loney has a .381 average in the first week and Ethier has a modest .273 but has 3 RBI's.  Black DeWitt has done a good job on offense and defense.  4-2 and in 1st, OK were where we want to be.  Go Dodgers.

Trevor Hoffman has gone from suck to blow!

haha, I love spaceballs, and I love the Dodgers. Russ is coming around, he's gonna go nuts in the Arizona series.

actually Hunter the Pads fell to 4-3 with the loss so we're actually alone at number 1 right now. I hope we'll be staying there unlike last year when we were up 5 at the end of May and blew it.

It's MAJOR to take a series from the Padres in San Diego! The mark of a solid team is not how many games in a row they can win, but how many series in a row.

The good news for our Dodgers: the team has four outfielders. The bad news is, three of them have apparently forgotten how to hit. It's fine to imagine scenarios for the trade of Juan Pierre, but they'll never move him if he can't show he's still got SOMETHING of his game left. Right now, he's an absolute zero, and nobody's gonna make a trade for that. I'm much more disappointed that Jones and Kemp have done so little. Jones fanning with Furcal at third and only one out . . . unforgivable. Thank God the preseason Ethier put together appears to be the real deal; but the team really needs some help from the other outfielders.

And I'm sure they'll get it. If you cant' be an optimist after 6 decades as a Dodger fan, you don't deserve to enjoy watching Loiaza stifle the Snakes tomorrow nite!  GO BLUE!!
