I was very close to defecting over to the soon to be Brooklyn Nets!
Donnie Walsh offers us Knicks fans some hope that at least we will now have to look at Isiah's sly grin after each, and every loss which happens to be very often nowadays.
In continiuing with the restoration of The Knicks. They should definitely name Mark Jackson General Manager. He is very, very respectable smart, and has ties to the Knicks, and NYC. Between Mark, and Donnie they can find a coach that will help to nurture, and grow the talent we have left after they hopefully get rid of Curry, and Marbury! The door should be wide open for Ewing, and Oakley to become assistants!

Jamal Crawford is decent. If we had a Top-flight point guard, and a Real coach. The Knicks will actually be the most improved team next year. Don't forget we still have to get rid of Curry, and Marbury!

curry sucks..he let randolph come to ny and chump him for the shots, curry made strides last year but has regressed trmendously.we need this whole team to be rebuilt we need spot up shooters, finishers, low post players with actual moves down there and a real true pass first point guard...we gotta move randolph also cuz as i see him every night he doesn't care if the Knicks win or not he chucks up 20 shots and bounces...

What kind of experience does Mark Jackson have as any type of coach? so tell how he would be an upgrade. Bringing someone in Like Patrick Ewing to teach the big men that's there would be great and as far as Oakley they need someone with the fire like the old days of the X-man and Mason than don't take no bull. The players they have are soft.

Honestly, I think Jax would make a better coach. I don't see him as GM material. He was a floor general when he played, one of the best distributors of the basketball, someone who really saw the floor well. Plus, with Walsh at the helm, maybe the Knicks don't even need a GM.
Bringing Pat back to as a big man coach might not be a bad idea....I honestly don't know what he'll be able to do with the likes of Curry, though. A guy like Oak might be better for Curry....maybe he could beat his a$$ and knock some sense into him.

I wish curry could figure it out but I just don't see it happening without a great coach. We've got to get rid of so much of this team before we even start to consider being contenders. No more Randolph, Marbury, Crawford/Q, Jeffries, James and Curry unless the knew coach is able to get him clearly motivated early. Trade these guy's for as many expiring contracts as we can in whatever packages will get them out of here, hopefully we can bring in a young player or pick in return but expiring deals are more valuable. Worst case scenario we have a team built around Chandler, DLee, Nate,Balkman and the rookie, which would leave us with a great pick to go next offseason where we can continue getting younger and cheaper.

the Knicks gotta start from scratch. first mistake is that isiah didnt trade for marion. he wouldve been a great defensive asset and he booted that chance. so i think what they gotta do is take all of the people that were named in the above post and either trade waive or release them. then we gotta pick up a good draft pick hoping to get the #1 overall for rose or beasley or something like that, perhaps kevin love if he decides to go to the draft. and thomas needs to go. its just a matter of time before walsh shows him the door and makes the knicks a respectable franchise once again

I'm gonna have to disagree with alot of the post that you guy's have been writing for starters I think Mark Jackson would be a good Coach because he brings a NY mentallity and PG savvy of NY's past. Then to comment on the latter just because all of those former player's made their marks with this franchise doesn't make them the most suitable teachers for the upcoming roster's I think you have to have a solid mix of people with good work ethic and skill to really instill knowledge in these young guy's and let them know what it's like to thrive in NY, because the NY will eat you up if your not mentally capable. Last but not least although it would not be impossible for them to buy out everyone on this team we do have several keepers that may very well had a bad year or just fell short of messhing with the current player's because this is a bad mix of players.

we have several keepers?i'm not so sure about that i know we are loaded with a bunch of quitters and that's not a good thing.i'm not really sure where i stand on the whole mark jackson coach/gm subject but i do know we are desperate need for a change and real soon i see no point in waiting to talk to zeke just get it over with and let's move on i'm sick of the Knicks being bottom feeders in a terrible eastern conference when they should be in the playoffs.

I'm hearing all this chatter from you supposedly die hard Knick fans about crossing over this is complete Bulls*** , we all are suffering with this present regime but hopefully good times are on the way starting with next season, so please do NY a favor all you bandwagon pro's if your not in it through the good times and the bad then you need to check your loyalties to this franchise.

I agree with everything you are saying except that we have several keepers: we have 2: Lee and Nate, possibly Crawford if we can get him a true pass first PG and more scoring help. But, we need defense and a point guard more than anything. We do not have several keepers b/c this is a bad mix of players which is exactly what you said. I like the idea which you said about bringing in Jackson is coach b/c of the reasons you stated. And you are absolutely right about the assistants coming in just b/c they once played for the Knicks. Oakley has had no coaching experience before and Ewing has only been a big-man coach. If we were to bring him in, it would be to work with that fat, lazy big man Curry. He has done a good job with Yao and Howard, but can you expect the same with Curry? He does not have the same motivation of these players, who are top 2 centers in the NBA. In fact, he has no motivation. And some people think Jackson should be GM. We cannot bring in an inexperienced GM. He has not even been a coach. I could see him as a coach b/c of his leadership as a PG, but we need a GM with experience and a strong reputation. Look at the last 2: Zeke and Layden. We cannot have someone like that again. Walsh even said he may be GM and based on what is out there, that may be the best option for us. He kept Indiana good for many years, keeping them a playoff team when they rebuilt earlier in the decade. Bird, not Walsh, is responisble for the Pacers being bad right now.

first of all, in reality i will always be a loyal Knicks fan, i am just completely fed up and cant take anymore of isiah thomas. second, i will be the first to say that Nate Robinson is not a keeper. his antics are not neccessary, his play is wild and crazy, and if anything hes too small. Wilson Chandler, David Lee, Renaldo Balkman, and crawford are the keepers. trade everybody else for draft picks, sign young guys and start from there. its not that hard.
