You want to talk about racism??? You want to talk about being proven guilty to a crime without a fair trial. You want to talk about being pulled over just because of your skin color. You want to talk about the whole Tennessee and Memphis college basketball teams being called thugs just because of their skin color. AND YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT DUKE PLAYERS RAPING A BLACK GIRL AND COMPARE THAT TO FOUR BLACK MEN?
Are you aware of the wrong doings of white people for the last couple of centuries??? Oh and i'm still waiting on the apologies for all the wrongfully accused black folks during the civil rights movement and post-slavery times.

Keep waiting because I imagine most of those people are dead. I follow college basketball pretty closely and I never heard of Memphis being referred to as a bunch of thugs. Pulled over because your black?? That's a nice overplayed card by the way.
And you want to talk about how whites have done the blacks wrong? Well guess what, you know who sold us all those slaves??? Black people. Are you awaiting an apology from the tribe back east for selling you all off to whitey.
But you actually made my point for me, Al. You are awaiting your apology from "us" before "we" get ours. So your justification of Jackson and Sharptons actions is "you started it". So if I get this right, it is OK for the black community to act foolishly and condemn people without reviewing facts because we did it first. During the civil rights movement. During slavery.
I think there is a little more direct cause and effect of Jesse Jackson and Sharpton denouncing the Duke boys, offering the girl a scholarship, etc then Billy Bob from the 60's going public with an apology now.
So by your rational, it would be OK to beat women and molest children if it happened to you first, because they "started it"
You sound like a child speaking like that. YOU make even Al Sharpton sound rational and intelligent.

TSanford 1 rest of the board 0. Damn what's that guy a lawyer? But I don't think the original arguement was solved clearly I think Prisco was misunderstood what he meant was you would think Young was the one doing right and Leinart was doing wrong by partying but at least the latter is with the team while Young is back in Texas and he feels it is more important for him to learn the new offense. He's wrong in my opinion I think people overspeculate things I mean it's the OFFSEASON I'm sure he'll have time to get his degree and learn the offense and progress into a better qb. I do disagree with Sanford on that I think Vince will be one of the top qbs pretty soon black or white

One more thing, we do get racially profiled by police you would have to go through it to believe it but yeah it happens all the time. And tennessee is one of the most racist states there is buddy. That being said I think Imus deserved to get pulled but Dog they didn't have to do him like that I mean that was a private convo I don't know.

I didn't see any racism, real or implied, in the article, or the headline. It may have been inferred, but that is something else entirely. To imply is to make something understood without saying it, using words to convey a meaning without specifically saying it. To infer is to draw a conclusion, based on individual beliefs, about what is not said or written. In other words, a writer/speaker implies, a reader/listener infers.
Inferring something is not always wrong, and can be instructive at times. However, it can also be a leap of faith, and completely wrong. That is what I see in this case; I read the article as Prisco disagreeing with Young, not because he is black, or back at school, which is admirable, but because he doesn't think that Young is helping himself by not being with the team, learning the new offense and bonding with teammates. Agree or not, I find it hard to see racism, subtle or not, in that.
On the other hand, Prisco seems to think that Leinart is doing the right thing, not by being white, or partying, but by doing what he say he thinks Young is not doing; spending time with the coaches and his teammates. If the situations were reversed, I don't think that Prisco would be lauding Leinart for attending school, either.
That said, there will be folks who see this article as racist. There will always be folks who see things as racist or at least racially motivated; sometimes correctly, and sometimes not. There are those who see racism in everything, and those who never see it at all...

Prisco you come off as a less-ron, that's not even a moron yet. You really are just searching for a story because you had a deadline or something. These are actually non-issues. You don't even derserve credit for writing an article. Go get a real story. I say here's to partying on your own time and getting a degree! What would you score on the Wunderlic, I wonder?

To ATL:
Racism exists, always has and always will. Certainly there have been those who are innocent who have been found guilty; those who have been pulled over for the color of their skin or not having money; those who have been immediately judged because of the color of their skin, and treated accordingly. You'll not, though (I hope), that such can happen to anybody in this country, whatever the color of their skin. This does not excuse the racism that exists, but I do want to point out that nobody is immune to such matters because of the color of their skin.
BTW, regarding the Duke case, it appears quite obvious that nobody was raped. The media fanned the flames on that story; it was ready-made, with sex, race, and sports all rolled up into one.
White people have done things wrong during the last few centuries. So have blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and everybody else. What I love about America is that we, as a country, have come a tremendous way from the wrongs of the past, and that people of every color have sacrificed to do so. That doesn't change the past, but it does provide the hope for the future, and we can see how far we have come already. I'm not saying that we are done, but we are not where we were either...

Ah yes, nothing like a controversial race thread to out TSanford 76 as the closet bigot that he is. Go back to your Hannah Montana concert and stay off the 'big boy' boards. I'm sending the short bus by to pick you up TSanford, so try to follow the bouncing ball:
Bottom line is Prisco is too narrow-minded to realize the difference between a good and a bad role model, so let's all say a prayer for his kids (and their mother) tonight before we go to bed. In the meantime, if Prisco has any kids under the age of 10, I hope Child Protective Services are on their way to his house with this article as evidence that he is obviously an unfit parent. Time for NFL teams to realize that they DON'T own players completely. If the Titans wanted to keep Vince Young from earning his college degree, they should have put it into his contract. So quick to bring up the 'honor your contract' argument unless it doesn't suit them. What are they going to do? Suspend him for conduct detrimental to his team? Just because he realizes that being a good role model off the field and finishing his college degree might help him reach the hearts and minds of kids who want to emulate him? Prisco would rather have Young in massive, drunken orgies instead of educating himself?
People talk about the lack of maturity in today's athletes. If only the Titans could learn a thing or two about maturity from Vince Young. This is the same organization that barred Steve McNair from their practice facility because he had a $25 million cap number. Why did they do that? Because they knew that he had too much self-respect to be forced into retirement in such a humiliating way and that he would opt to terminate his contract just to be able to play football that season. Think about it people. If you're taking your kid to a Titans game do you want them to follow the Vince Young example or the Titans management example? Education or immaturity? Loyalty to promises to your mother or just chasing after the closest buck? If you even have to think about it, then no wonder you have a Hannah Montana avatar.
